Trying to give my kids a little more independence while resisting the urge to yell “STAY WHERE I CAN SEE YOU” every 30 seconds. 😂

The new COSMO JrTrack Pro gives us a way to stay connected with parent approved calls and messages, plus GPS tracking, without handing over a phone or access to social media.

A little more freedom for them. A little less hovering from me. We’re both growing here. 🤍

If they’re ready for more, they’re ready for Cosmo.

POV your kid finds out he can play UNLIMITED hours at @uafullerton Air 😱 Jackson’s golden birthday was the best day ever, and I was completely worry-free in that huge crowd because he had his Cosmo watch on. Don’t wait until the day you’re separated from your loved ones. Better overprotective than under.

🇺🇸🇪🇸 𝗧𝟰 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗖𝘂𝗽 — 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗨𝗦𝗔 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀! 🇺🇸🏆

Getting to travel to Spain and represent 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗨𝗦𝗔 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗧𝟰 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 was an opportunity I’ll never forget.

I had only practiced on a T4 package for 1 day back in June, so this was my 1st time actually racing this package.

The T4 package is a bit different from what I’m used to racing in Mini Swift. It also has much tighter engine parity across the field so the racing is incredibly close & competitive which is awesome!

𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴
I was on a lap that was looking good enough for pole until Sector 3, when I hit a curb hard and lost a ton of time. I ended up 𝗣𝟵/𝟯𝟲. Not where I wanted to be, but I knew the pace was there.

The heats were 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰. At times, it felt like survival, with karts battling for every position instead of settling in for the win.
🇺🇸 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝟭 — 𝗣𝟱
🇺🇸 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝟮 — 𝗣𝟲
🇺🇸 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝟯 — 𝗣𝟴
That put me starting 𝗣𝟳 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁 — progress!

Then we kept moving forward.

🔥 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁 — 𝗣𝟯
That moved me to start 𝗣𝟱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 — more progress!

The Final was a battle from the first lap to the last. I fought as hard as I could & brought it home 𝗣𝟰.

I’m incredibly proud of the fight, racing kids up to 13 years old. I was 1 of the younger drivers out there & my first time racing this package.

Then came the 𝗕𝗘𝗦𝗧 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗱…
🏆 𝗧𝗘𝗔𝗠 𝗨𝗦𝗔 𝗪𝗢𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗧𝗘𝗔𝗠 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗠𝗣𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗣! 🇺🇸

The top three results from each country in the Superheat and Final counted toward the Team Championship points. 𝗠𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗨𝗦𝗔, which means I got to play a part in helping bring the championship home. 🙌🏻🇺🇸

Representing my country was already something I’ll never forget. Knowing that I was able to 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗨𝗦𝗔 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻 makes this experience even more special.

What an experience. What a team. What a weekend.
Congrats to Team USA!! 🇺🇸🎉

One last look at the final round. Thank you @alastair_da_man for the great video!

Just 7 points separated us from the championship.

A season spent battling some seriously talented drivers. 🔥

My neurodivergent kids have a *lot* of trouble with memorization.

So, even if/when they successfully memorize my phone number, I do not feel comfortable relying on them being able to retrieve that from their memory when in panic-mode.

To get around that issue, we use ID tags with the phone numbers for me, my husband, my mom, and MIL. We never travel with all four of those people at once. Obviously, I would want my kids to ask a stranger to help call me (or whoever from that list they're traveling with). But, if I can't be reached for some reason*, there will always be someone on that list who is back home and can be reached to help coordinate reuniting my kid with me.

We started out using ID bracelets from @roadid but my kids didn't like the feel of the bracelets on their wrists. So, we moved to using ID tags on their shoes, also from RoadID.

In the second picture, you can see my older kids' GPS watches from @cosmotogether which we also really like. But, since they rely on access to the cell network, we don't rely on them completely. Plus, they only work in North America. So, we always have the ID on the kids' shoes when traveling. And sometimes, they'll also have their GPS watches.

*We have been in situations where there were so many people that the cell networks were overwhelmed, and we had trouble making and receiving phone calls. So, it is very possible that we could be in a crowded area, my kids could be separated from me, and no one would be able to get a phone call through to me to tell me where they are. That's why I like to have someone back at home that would also be accessible and able to help, even if from afar.

What about you? Do you have your kids wear ID or something with your phone number on it when you travel?

🍂💛 September brings a new rhythm. The lunchboxes are packed, the school routines are settling in, and many of us are finding our footing again after a busy summer. Through all the transitions, one thing remains constant: the incredible community of moms who show up for one another.

👯‍♀️ Motherhood was never meant to be done alone. Sometimes it’s the friend who texts to check in, the fellow mom who shares advice without judgment, the neighbor who lends a hand, or the community that reminds us we’re not the only ones navigating the highs and lows. These connections become our pillars of support, helping us carry more than we ever could on our own.

💛 At SFBAM, we’re grateful for the village we’re building together. A place where moms can celebrate wins, share challenges, ask questions, and find encouragement through every stage of motherhood. Because when one mom feels supported, we all grow stronger.

✨ Here’s to showing up for ourselves, showing up for each other, and remembering that connection is one of the greatest gifts we can give and receive.
