DIY pop merchant, plantswoman, hyphen overlord, socialist. Debut album Kind Eyes out now
@tiptoprecs

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

My album Kind Eyes is finally out today! I’m eternally grateful to everyone who helped me get it over the line, and David and Ben from @tiptoprecs for releasing it into the wide wide world 🌍 💖 🍾

None of it would have been possible without the production, engineering and mixing wizardry of Seb Kellig. Paul Rains played a big part and a lot of sublime guitar, and there’s sublime guitars from @seanmatthewberry and @ivanvisoart too. The live drums were turned from dream to reality by @abbasidanny @chrisdrumsonline and @stevewattisdrums . Massive thanks to Tim Turan from @turanaudio also, the mastering is on point.

Sleeve design is by my hero Paul Rains, who did a stunning job from some snaps by me.
The proper photography on first slide is by Jojo Williams @supafakes who I also loved working with 💕 cannot thank everyone enough, love you all.

You can own one of the limited edition coke bottle green vinyl records today and you can also listen to it on the internet. Tell me what you think!!

Peace out x

Count Jaakola, making her Scottish debut, is the solo project of London-based Finnish songwriter Tiia Jaakola. Her debut album Kind Eyes, released November 2025, has been championed by BBC 6 Music’s Stuart Maconie, The Line of Best Fit, Austria’s FM4 and Germany’s ByteFM. Her sound is lush, dreamy DIY pop, where warm keys give way to brooding synths, resolving in the fizz and sparkle of guitars and drums. Count Jaakola, on keys and vocals, is joined live by Paul Rains (Allo Darlin’) on guitar, lap steel and drum machine.

Special guests:

Elsie MacDonald - folk-punk singer-songwriter, offering an introspective view of Edinburgh life.

Midi Paul - Stuttering drums, spliced up disco, wobbly synths and some computer funk...

Tickets available from @ticketsscotland in person, or use the link in the bio. Looking forward to being back @home_edinburgh

£10 plus booking fee.

So happy to share a remix of ‘Erica’ by @alice_hubble out today on @tiptoprecs . I’ve wanted to work with Alice ever since I first heard ‘Goddess’ from her first album ‘Polarlichter’ so was stoked that she wanted to do a remix, and I absolutely love this version! If you don’t know Alice’s music you must go and explore immediately, and you can listen to Erica via link in bio.
