Meet DJ Norman — Your Director of Student Engagement 👥🌟

DJ loves helping students connect the dots between who they are, what they are curious about, and the careers they can build next.

DJ has built a career helping great people find great opportunities—and he has done it across some of the world’s most recognizable brands. He is currently a Sr. Manager Talent Acquisition, Sales & Marketing. Previously, he served as Sr. Director of Recruiting, Tech & Products for PayPal and Global Head of Experienced Recruiting at Atlassian, a software development company. He also led recruiting at Meta, formerly Facebook, and spent 6.5 years with The Walt Disney Company as Director, Professional Recruitment for Parks Experiences & Consumer Products. Across more than 25 years in human resources, DJ has led large HR functions across North America, Asia PAC, and Mexico in union and non-union environments, rolling out enterprise-level strategies, tools, and processes.

He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Management and Human Resources from Cal Poly Pomona in 1993. While attending Cal Poly Pomona he played on the Men’s Basketball team for four years. He has continued his education receiving a HR Strategy certification from Cornell University and is AIRS Certified Diversity Recruiter. He is an active CBA Alumni Board member where he enjoys volunteering and mentoring students and alumni.

Personally, he was raised in the Bay Area (Oakland, CA) and currently lives in Huntington Beach, CA with his wife (Brandee). He enjoys keeping up with technology, considers himself “AI-Curious”, enjoys cooking (mostly eating) and living an outdoor lifestyle.

Continuing with Director at Large, played in a key role in past academic years in growing the annual Holiday Toy Drive! Here is her introduction:
Rocio graduated from Collins College in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management and a minor in Marketing. During her time, she was involved in Associated Students Incorporated (ASI), Collins Hospitality Management Council and Greek Life.
She currently serves as a Banquet Manager and just hit her 4 year anniversary with Marriott! She has her Introductory Sommelier Certification and has a passion for expanding her knowledge.
She looks forward to creating exceptional experiences for our alumni and giving back to the College that has shaped her career and life. by @cppalumni

Onto his third year being Director at Large for Collins Alumni Society. Let him introduce his himself once again. “Hello, I’m Erick and graduated from Collins College in 2014. While attending Collins I worked for various places as a chef. I went into sales with Southern Glazers in 2015. Currently I work as a DSD Sales Representative. My free time is spent with my wife Lalis and son EJ. We just finished out first t-ball season. It was quite an experience being an assistant coach. Meet Jasmine Beller, MBA your Director of Social Media and Online Engagement 📲🤳🏼💻🎒

Jasmine is now in her second year serving on the CBA Alumni Board board. A proud alumna, she earned her MBA with an emphasis in sales and marketing from @cbacpp and her B.S. in Public Relations and Communications from @classcpp — where she was inducted into the Golden Key International Honour Society. During her time on campus, Jasmine developed her leadership skills through Associated Students, Inc., Orientation Services, and the university’s Rose Float tradition. 🐴💛💚

With a passion for marketing, storytelling, and digital engagement, Jasmine has played a pivotal role in expanding the CBA Alumni Association’s social media presence, helping more than double its social media performance. This year, she is excited to continue growing the chapter’s digital community. Her professional background spans communications, sales, recruitment, client relationships, and team development, and she currently serves as a Starbucks Trainer.

Outside of her professional and alumni work, Jasmine is pursuing photography, a lifelong dream and another outlet for her love of storytelling. She is also an avid film enthusiast and frequent moviegoer. Whether she’s building a community online, developing a team, or looking through a camera lens, Jasmine is always looking for the next story worth telling. 🎬☕️

Meet Elizabeth Garcia — your Director of Social Media and Online Engagement 📲🤳🏼🐴

Elizabeth is a marketing and communications professional with expertise supporting cross-functional marketing initiatives across travel, apparel, and beauty, including global brands such as Vans, Speedo and Too Faced Cosmetics.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication Public Relations, with a minor in Marketing Management. Her career started at Cal Poly Pomona in Student Services, supporting students plan for semester conversion.

She is a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), which was important in her contributions at The Travel Corporation, working in paid media digital marketing and campaign planning. She enjoys turning ideas into clear plans and ensuring successful execution of projects from start to finish.

Elizabeth understands the value of bringing impactful and engaging content to the CBA community, and looks forward to serving alongside Jasmine Beller as a Director of Social Media and Online Engagement.

Fun fact: During her time as a student, Elizabeth was also on the Broncettes Dance Team, and served as President her last year! 💃🏻

What can a history degree teach you about winning a lawsuit? Turns out, quite a lot. ⚖️📚

For @classcpp alum Louie Ruis (‘11, history), the research, evidence analysis, and critical thinking skills he developed in the CPP history department as a student paved the way for his career as an attorney.

Today, Ruiz has two law offices in Ontario and Los Angeles, where he and his firm do pro bono work for Catholic nuns and other clients in need. Additionally, Ruiz is paying it forward to CPP through his active role in the @cpp_lan and giving to the Hilda Solis Scholarship Fund to help CPP students achieve their goals.

Albert Fattal is a distinguished technologist and strategic operational leader specializing in artificial intelligence, blockchain, and macroeconomic finance.

He is federally certified in Artificial Intelligence across acquisitions, leadership and policy, and technical disciplines, and is a recipient of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors Division Director’s Award.

With extensive experience working in highly sensitive and secure environments, Albert has focused his career on advancing the adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies. He specializes in designing and implementing large-scale, AI-driven computational architectures that improve organizational efficiency, security, transparency, and accountability.

His expertise spans AI, blockchain, data science, computer information systems, and institutional technology strategy, with a strong emphasis on data confidentiality, privacy, scalability, and future-ready infrastructure.

Albert is passionate about applying emerging technologies to solve complex challenges and help organizations navigate the next generation of technological innovation.

Albert holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Science, Technology & Society from Cal Poly Pomona, along with a minor in Computer Information Systems.
