To celebrate International Day of Women and Girls in Science @idwgis, I would like to share with you Mary Anning’s story 🎬 🎥 🦖 🦕 🐚

Despite facing significant barriers as a woman in 19th-century science, Mary Anning's contributions were foundational to paleontology. Her work not only provided critical specimens for study, but also helped shape the very way we understand and investigate Earth's prehistoric past.

Thank you again to all our contributors Dr Anjana Khatwa @jurassicg1rl, Dr Liz Hide @themuseumofliz, Anya Pearson @maryanningrocks and David Tucker @lymemuseum for taking the time to speak to us.

Over the past 10 days in Italy, I seem to have walked about a million steps… so I thought I’d try to make some of them count for an even better cause 🐾

Dog welfare is something very close to my heart, so each year I choose one charity to support with my time and creative skills. This year, I’m also raising money for Forever Hounds Trust, a charity that has spent the last 30 years rescuing and rehabilitating abandoned and retired sighthounds.
Dogs that arrived frightened, neglected, or discarded… and who, through patience and care, get a second chance at life.

Over the years I’ve also had the privilege of making films for organisations including Kent Greyhound Rescue, Free Spanish Hounds, and the Galgo March in London - stories that have stayed with me long after filming ended.

So alongside a little Tuscany photo dump, here’s a gentle ask: If you’d like to support the fundraiser, I’d be hugely grateful 💜

This Sunday, 1st February 2026, the 3rd Galgo march will take place in London! 🐾

I've created a series of 9 short, story-led films for @free.spanish.hounds designed to be shared, revisited and used over time. Pieces that still tell the truth about the cruelty Galgos and Podencos face, but also shine a light on hope.

These films focus on:

• why we march
• the rescue organisations working tirelessly for change
• and the people who open their hearts and homes to these dogs

From a filmmaking perspective, this project is exactly the kind of work I love - thoughtful, documentary-style storytelling that can be used across social, web, and fundraising campaigns, keeping the conversation going well beyond a single moment. Finding a balance between honesty and hope, and telling human-centred stories that invite people in rather than overwhelm them.

All nine films are now live - link in bio

If you’ve ever thought 'I wish I’d known about this', this is your sign. They don’t have a voice, but we do!

Please join, share, repost and help make 2026 the biggest march yet.

Each year, I choose one charity to support by donating my time and creative skills.

In 2025, that charity was Kent Greyhound Reacue, an incredible organisation that has helped over 2,000 greyhounds and sight hounds find safety, care and loving homes through pure dedication and compassion.

This promo looks at what they’ve achieved so far, and what’s next: growing their facilities, expanding community work, and helping even more dogs who desperately need a second chance 🐾

Huge thanks to Sophie and the whole KGR team for trusting me with their story and for everything you do, 365 days a year.

If you’re curious about greyhounds, adoption or supporting a brilliant local charity, please give it a watch and follow @kent_greyhound_rescue

Testimonial Tuesday

I feel incredibly grateful when clients are pleased with their finished film, but it’s even more special when someone takes the time to share kind words about their experience working with me. Thank you Gill @millefleursuk for your lovely testimonial!

'Iris is an incredibly talented film maker and working with Crafted Films was an absolute pleasure. She created a beautiful short film that offers a behind-the-scenes look into my bespoke millinery business, perfectly capturing the creativity, craftsmanship, and care that goes into each hat.

Since opening our second shop in Tunbridge Wells, the film has been an invaluable tool, helping people understand what we do and allowing us to share our story more authentically through our website and social media.

Iris was a joy to work with: warm, professional, and incredibly intuitive. She immediately put me at ease and truly understood how to tell our story in a way that felt genuine and engaging. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for thoughtful, high-quality visual storytelling.'

Last week I had the chance to do something a little different from my usual documentary-style shoots. This one was all about the composition of the visuals, which meant I could really focus on the aesthetics and the mood we wanted to create.

It also came with the biggest prop I’ve sourced to date - a grand piano. Definitely a step up from the usual kit bags and not one you can just pop in the boot 😅

A lot of pre-production went into this one, from storyboarding, sourcing talent, extras & locations to planning logistics and wrangling props and I’ll admit that I feel a little proud seeing it all come together so smoothly on the day.

A huge thank you to our brilliant actors, my fab crew who always go the extra mile, and the team at the @stagsevenoaks who made us feel welcome and supported us throughout the day!

We had a brilliant evening at @localandlive last night - I can’t believe it was our first time going! I absolutely love live music and going to gigs, but somehow had no idea this festival was happening right here in Tunbridge Wells. Even better, it’s completely free and such a fantastic way to support grassroots artists and the local music scene. I discovered two new bands I’ll definitely be following @thefierylights and @suncharmerband

Huge thanks to everyone involved in putting this on. I'm already looking forward to next year!

Just back from a lovely trip to Austria and feeling refreshed, inspired, and very happy to have spent some proper time in the mountains. 🏔️🥾☀️

There’s nothing quite like hiking in the Alps - the air, the views, the silence (apart from the odd cowbell 🐮). I also spent some time in Vienna, which is as beautiful and full of charm as it’s always been.

Yes, I kept half an eye on emails and popped on here once or twice… but for the most part, I really allowed myself to switch off and enjoy a proper holiday in my home country. It’s so important to recharge the batteries every now and then — creatively and otherwise.

Back at my desk now and looking forward to diving into exciting summer projects!

We stayed at @forsthofalm which is in the most stunning location surrounded by mountains and at the iconic @adlerkitz in Kitzbühel. If you haven't booked your summer holiday yet, I recommend to @visitaustria

There’s something undeniably magical about millinery... the sculpting, the stitching, the transformation of fabric into wearable art.

With Royal Ascot fast approaching (17th June), it's the perfect time to celebrate the artistry behind hat making!

Here’s a little teaser from a recent shoot I did for Gill Stratton, the wonderfully talented milliner behind @millefleursuk

Watching her work is like watching a spell being cast - elegance, drama, and a touch of quirk all stitched into every piece.

🎬 Full film coming very soon, just in time for hat season! 🎩👒

Gill's wonderful creations can be found in her in Tunbridge Wells and Otford (near Sevenoaks) stores.
