In addition to our vendors (local crafters of color, details below!) we will be hosting a fundraiser raffle for New Haven Immigrants Coalition. The “We Stand with Esdrás” auction is live through Friday, August 8, and there is so much beautiful stuff to bid on - from a giant orca to beaded earrings and paintings and giftcards and manuscript consultations and tote bags and pillows and more! Pictured are just some of the amazing items donated by community members, and there is more online. We are so grateful to everyone who answered the call, made last night such a huge success, and is showing up online to bid on these beauties. We drew so many raffle winners today and we will be in touch tomorrow! In the meantime, the auction links are open, and we invite you to jump in with generosity! (A few folks dropped off donations today, too, so we will be adding items in the next day or two…) Much love to one and all! We take care of us… 🌈📚❤️ #possiblefutures #craftersofcolor #ctstudentsforadream #westandwithesdras #bringesdrashome #collectivecare #community #love taken in Possible Futures by @craftersofcolornhv

We are so proud to live where we do, among so many who will not stand by silent when our members of our community are under attack. Please join us in supporting CT Students for a Dream in their work to protect Esdrás and others. Thank you to everyone who attended yesterday‘s rally, where we learned the harrowing news that Esdrás has been moved to Louisiana, the same state featured in this morning’s NYT article about this administration’s “busiest deportation hub.” To say we are in a battle is an understatement; our government is waging a war on our humanity and we, the people, will not lose. Thank you to everyone who has donated already. You may see that @ct4adream reached its initial fundraising target of $10,000, but we know they are going to need more, and that they need us to support them so that they can do what they need to do for the students we love and share. When horrible things happen, there is so much power in gathering together. We sometimes do informal bookspace Friday happy hours among friends, and so we’re expanding that neighborly vision this week and inviting you all over on Friday between 4 and 8 PM. We’ll be offering drinks and snacks in exchange for donations, plus raffle tickets, and materials and examples for writing letters. We will also be kicking off an online auction that will run for some items between now and next Friday. You can participate from afar in various ways and we would welcome that. We are still taking donated items for the raffle and auction, too. Reach out with any questions via DM. Otherwise, we are looking forward to seeing you on Friday! 🌈📚❤️ #possiblefutures #nhvcraftersofcolor #ctstudentsforadream #collectivecare #community #love taken in Possible Futures by @craftersofcolornhv

URGENT FUNDRAISER for New Haven teen abducted by ICE. We ask our community to please donate art and services for raffle/auction to benefit Esdras, a junior at Wilbur Cross High School, and his legal defense. Fundraiser is this Friday at Possible Futures.

We at Crafters of Color and Possible Futures Books believe that we can support local artists of color as well as our vulnerable local community members in times of crisis. Link in bio to donate art and services. See @ct4adream to donate money directly.
