I’ve not had any time to spin this week but I’ve still been catching up on IG posts from the #vinylcomunity - Now it’s the end of the week I’ve made some time to spin this one which celebrated its 29th anniversary on Tuesday (you may have seen my story about which version this copy is)! - “Blur” is the fifth studio album by @blurofficial released on 10 February 1997 by Food Records. - Under the suggestion of the band’s guitarist, Graham Coxon, the band underwent a stylistic change, becoming influenced by American indie rock bands such as Pavement. - Recording took place in London as well as in Reykjavík, Iceland. - The lead single, “Beetlebum”, reached the top of the UK charts and the album was certified platinum. - My copy is an original (mint) UK pressing with textured sleeve and embossed/debossed inner sleeve (with blur text, which you can’t see in the pics). This awesome album turns 31 today so I’ve dug out my first EU/UK pressing for a spin! - This version is really nice and has raised gold foil lettering to the front & rear of the sleeve and spine along with an 8 page booklet. My copy also came with a Ltd Edt print (you may have see on my IG story) which was handed to instore customers purchasing the vinyl on release day (which was 24th November in the UK) the day I got my copy. - “Vitalogy” is the third studio album by the American rock band @pearljam released on November 22, 1994, on Epic Records. Vitalogy facts: Recorded at: Bad Animals - Seattle Southern Tracks - Atlanta Doppler - Atlanta Kingsway - New Orleans The LP sold 34,000 copies in its first week of release, and until Jack White’s 2014 album Lazaretto it held the record for most vinyl sales in one week. Upon its CD release, Vitalogy became the second-fastest selling album in history, behind only the band’s previous release Vs., selling 877,000 copies in its first week and quickly going multi-platinum. The original title for the album was Life. The first single, “Spin the Black Circle”, was released before the album was released, and on the back of the single it states: “From the Epic album Life”. The title Vitalogy, which means “the study of life”, came from an early 20th-century medical book that Vedder found at a garage sale. This book was also the inspiration for the album’s cover art and liner notes. - It’s an awesome album and I’m very happy to have this copy in my collection for 31 years!! Couldn’t let the day go without giving my original copy a spin for its #recordbithday - “Jar of Flies” is the third studio EP by American rock band @aliceinchains released on January 25, 1994, by Columbia Records. The band’s second acoustic EP, after 1992’s Sap, it was the first EP in music history to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, with the first week sales exceeding 141,000 copies in the United States. The self-produced record was written and recorded over the course of just one week at the London Bridge Studio in Seattle. The tracks “No Excuses”, “I Stay Away” and “Don’t Follow” were released as radio singles to promote the EP. Jar of Flies was nominated for two Grammy Awards in 1995: Best Recording Package and Best Hard Rock Performance for “I Stay Away”. - My copy is a near mint 1994 original European Ltd Edt Jar of Flies/SAP, double EP/mini album in a gatefold, with JOF on orange vinyl and SAP on blue vinyl with the sun logo etching on side 4. I got this when it was released. The hype sticker says: Alice In Chains Jar Of Flies / SAP Specially Priced Limited Edition Double Mini Album on Coloured Vinyl - An amazing album with some of Staleys finest vocals. Just picked up some fresh wax from @southrecordshop - “Palace for the People” is the fourth studio album by @gretavanfleet released on 9 October 2026 via Republic Records / Lava Music. @republicrecords @lavarecordsofficial You may have seen my post a while ago about my hesitation of buying this record due to the high price (£60.00) which I still think is crazy and I probably wouldn’t have bought it if it wasn’t for that fact that I had a voucher to use at my local store. - There a few variants of this including: •Oracle - gray smoke •Origin - celestite marble •Palace - blue marble •Dynasty - titanium ore My version is the indie store exclusive Origin version. The indie store variants were delayed for a week so this only arrived at the store yesterday. - I’ve only heard one of the tracks so far and I’m just about to spin it now. Just got back from the @wilko_play with my dad at the Palace Theatre @southendtheatres What an amazing show it was. A story about John Wilkinson’s life including his time in @drfeelgoodband @ianduryofficial and @wilkojohnsonofficial with live music throughout. There were some special guests at the end from @ninebelowzero with Dennis Greaves and Mark Feltham. Got a few pics of the stage / the show (which they allowed) / me and dad and the last pic is when I met John Wilkinson at Fives Records back in 2018. If you get the chance to see it I definitely recommend it! by @craigs_vinyl

Have you ever wondered what the feathers sitting on top of my amp are? Back in December 2025 the kind people at @vinyfix sent me their ostrich feather duster to test out. Well it’s almost been a year since I’ve had it and it’s an awesome product and one I can recommend. It’s easy to use by swiping across your records and it removes dust and hairs. You can also use it to dust your turntable (I also use it to dust the top of my amp). After using it you just give it a shake to remove any particles and put it back in the chrome stand which doubles up as a 7” adapter. I posted about two of my favourite 00’s “supergroup” albums a while ago and played one of them (The Crooked Vultures) but I never got round to playing the other one so I’m doing that now. Check out my pictures. - “The Good, the Bad & the Queen” is the debut studio album by the English art rock supergroup the Good, the Bad & the Queen which was released on 22 January 2007 via Honest Jon’s Records. The album debuted at number two in the UK Albums Chart and was certified Gold in the UK within days of its release despite little media recognition and airplay. In the United States, the album entered the Billboard 200 at No. 49. The Good, the Bad & the Queen were an English art rock supergroup composed of: •Damon Albarn - Blur and Gorillaz - Vocals •Paul Simonon - the Clash - Bass •Simon Tong - the Verve - Guitar •Tony Allen - Fela Kuti & the Africa 70 - Drums They released their self-titled debut album in 2007. Their second album, Merrie Land, coproduced with Tony Visconti, was released in 2018. They disbanded in 2019 and Allen passed away in 2020. - Other than this pressing theres a promo version in a DJ Sleeve (which I’ve included a picture of at the end) and an unofficial pressing from 2023. I got mine in 2021 which was sealed but I opened it up to play it. There also a nice fold out poster insert. Some late 90’s acid jazz funk! What do you do after you’ve listened to a new record the first time. Most probably you file it never to be listened to again, or dig it out on its anniversary or maybe make a metal note to listen to it again. I’ve started leaving some records out to listen to again if they’re particularly good, which is what I’ve done with this one as it’s an awesome album (I’ve also got a RSD release I’ve still not listened to all the way through yet!). This one even has a scratch ‘n sniff sticker on the front cover. - “Peaches!” is the fourteenth studio album by the American rock duo @theblackkeys released on May 1, 2026, by Easy Eye Sound and Warner Records. My first spin today is my second pickup from @floatonrecordsuk Happy to add another studio album to my ever increasing @pixiesofficial studio album collection, and a 90’s one at that. - “Bossanova” is the third studio album by American alternative rock band Pixies. It was released on August 13, 1990, by English independent record label 4AD in the United Kingdom and by Elektra Records in the United States. - Recorded between 1989-1990 at the following studios: •Cherokee (Hollywood) •Aire L.A. (Glendale, Calif.) •Silverlake (Hollywood) •Hansa Tonstudio (Berlin) •Master Control (Burbank, Calif.)
