At Crazy Horse Memorial there is an optional bus ride that our guests can take to the foot of the Mountain Carving in progress. Many of our guests take that tour and it is a perfect place to snap a pic! Here is a selection of photos submitted from that location - you can see these were sent from various years (some pre-tower crane).

This photo can be found among the archives at Crazy Horse Memorial®. The article accompanying it states that in his "spare time" the Sculptor would build a room or two in his already 57 room house. In this #ThrowbackThursday Korczak is seated in his own room. Many of the rooms that Korczak and his family built are now part of the massive Crazy Horse Memorial visitor complex. by @crazyhorsememorial

This #MountainMonday happens to be the first of a new Crazy Horse Memorial® fiscal year. So, in celebration of the New (fiscal) Year we want to take a look at the results of progress on the Visitor Center side over the past two years because we know you all enjoy these comparisons.

As we mentioned before, the tip of the Horse's Ear is emerging which can be seen in the 2026 photo. This leads to more exciting news - the robotic arm which the Crew has been working to integrate into carving is planned to be first used on the tip of the Horse's Ear! We hope that gets you as excited about the future as we are!

Adam Ziolkowski, second oldest son of Korczak and Ruth Ziolkowski was often referred to as his father's “right-hand man”. Adam worked very hard with his father and was willing to do whatever his father asked of him. At the most recent Crazy Horse Memorial University® completion ceremony Crazy Horse Memorial Foundation Board Chair Dr. Jade Herman congratulated the students on their accomplishments and gave them some wise advice to take with them. Waiting on the table to her right were pieces of granite from the Mountain Carving in progress displaying the student's names, as well as their generous scholarship donor's name. We are beyond grateful for the many individuals involved in the success of these young people, including of course the students themselves! We are cheering for you all. 🫶
