Curating the tracklist for Floriography called for a softer touch.

This beautiful event, put together by @Cat_burton and @create.art.together, included an 8 piece gallery and floral installation, plus a cocktail and culinary experience. Their well-dressed guests needed to be transported away from the mundane and into a chic soundscape that justified their effort.

This tracklist is full of jazz, R&B, and smooth, unexpected songs perfect for such a rare experience.

Check out the tracklist. Does any song stick out to you? by @create.art.together

Sometimes the best ideas happen when you let go. ✨

This August, we’re celebrating Black Business Month by spotlighting Black creatives who are building businesses, creating opportunities, and shaping culture through their work.

We’re kicking things off with Cat Burton (@cat_burton), Pittsburgh-based creative producer, arts administrator, and founder of Create Art Together (@create.art.together).

From fashion and exhibitions to artist-centered programming, Cat creates opportunities for creatives to bring their ideas to life. As she shares, “My best projects resulted from releasing control... so something better could emerge.”

I’ve been replaying Floriography in my head ever since.

Watching so many new faces meet for the first time, seeing artists connect with photographers, strangers become friends over a cocktail, and a room full of people choosing to slow down and be present. That’s the part I’ll remember.

It reminded me that people are still craving intentional experiences. Spaces where creativity, hospitality, and community all exist in the same room.

A huge thank you to @palibationspgh for the incredible pours, @birdnest.ss for bringing the cocktail and culinary vision to life, @hannahphillips.art for the stunning eight-piece exhibition, @kholsen_ for the floral installation, and @cat_burton for helping shape and curate an evening that felt truly special.

To @caitlin.girdwood, @shanevmcfarland, and @ashleekeeneyphotography—thank you for preserving these moments so beautifully. And to @thearie_cole, thank you for setting the rhythm of the entire night.

Most importantly, thank you to every single person who came with curiosity, dressed for the occasion, sparked conversations, and helped make the room feel alive. You made the night what it was.

This was only the beginning.

We’ve already started dreaming about the next intentional gathering… sometime around October.

Floriography 🌹

I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who came out and made this event so special 🤍

Seeing everyone express themselves through fashion, art, food, and music was honestly beautiful to witness.

Cheers to collaboration from @hannahphillips.art , @devoncolebank , @kholsen_ , & @thearie_cole everyone shared their talents and passions, and that’s what made the whole thing come together the way it did — it truly takes a community.

Thank you to @caitlin.girdwood , @ashleekeeneyphotography , & @shanevmcfarland for capturing the most beautiful pictures for display 📸✨

Thank you to @carriagehousepgh for hosting us and to everyone for showing up, for sharing your creativity, and for being exactly who you are.

Moments like this remind me why I do what I do.

Can’t wait to see what’s next 🥂 taken in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania by @create.art.together

Some evenings become more than events—they become PROOF that a city still believes in gathering with intention.

Floriography sold out, but more importantly, it brought artists, makers, photographers, florists, and socialites into the same room to create something that couldn’t exist alone. This is the work: building spaces where creativity is shared, culture is documented, and community leaves a little more connected than it arrived.

Thank you to my friends & family who helped shape the evening: @palibationspgh for providing the sips, @birdnest.ss (aka me) for the designing the cocktails & the bites, @hannahphillips.art for the eight-piece ethereal exhibition, @kholsen_ for the floral installation, and @cat_burton for curating the experience and photography.

Grateful to @caitlin.girdwood, @shanevmcfarland, and @ashleekeeneyphotography for preserving the moments, @thearie_cole for setting the rhythm of the night, and to every guest who showed up with curiosity and intention.

the world might be yours, but the city is ours… 🖤 by @create.art.together

Floriography sold out and it was everything we dreamed of 🌹✨ Thank you to everyone who came out in your rose-inspired best and made this night as beautiful as it was meaningful.

To our incredible collaborators — @devoncolebank for the drinks & appetizers, @hannahphillips.art for the stunning 8-piece exhibition, @kholsen_ for the beautiful floral display, and @cat_burton for curating the event and the photography — this wouldn’t have bloomed without you.

Thank you to @caitlin.girdwood, @shanevmcfarland, and @ashleekeeneyphotography for capturing the magic, @thearie_cole for the setting the tone with the music, and to every guest who wandered, sipped, and celebrated with us.

We’re already dreaming up the next one 💌 taken in Studio2131 by @create.art.together
