I took these pictures maybe 15 minutes after meeting @fashioninframesbygenesis . And we had such a good time shooting together at this event! I love the harsh light and strong contrast in this set, and leaned into it when editing.

We’re accepting applications for community-focused events, public art, and creative activations that make Downtown more vibrant and welcoming.

Whether you’re an experienced creative organizer or a first-timer, we want to hear your ideas. Past projects have included cultural events, public art installations, wellness programming, live performances, and fashion showcases.

PDP will support 8-10 organizations or individuals, which can included nonprofits, artists, and community groups, with funding and hands-on guidance to bring innovative public art, cultural programming, and neighborhood-based events to life.

Curating the tracklist for Floriography called for a softer touch.⁠

This beautiful event, put together by @Cat_burton and @create.art.together, included an 8 piece gallery and floral installation, plus a cocktail and culinary experience. Their well-dressed guests needed to be transported away from the mundane and into a chic soundscape that justified their effort.⁠

This tracklist is full of jazz, R&B, and smooth, unexpected songs perfect for such a rare experience.⁠

The last pic is an accurate portrayal of how I’m feeling these days. Anyone else get that millennial urge?

In moments like this, I have my clients focus on what has worked, the wins. We look for what’s worth repeating because forward momentum creates perspective.

I know it’s effective.

But I’m also remembering that not every feeling needs to be fixed. Sometimes the lesson is giving yourself permission to feel it without trying to outrun it.

This is temporary. You don’t have to hide from it. You just have to trust that you’ll move through it.

I’ve been replaying Floriography in my head ever since.

Watching so many new faces meet for the first time, seeing artists connect with photographers, strangers become friends over a cocktail, and a room full of people choosing to slow down and be present. That’s the part I’ll remember.

It reminded me that people are still craving intentional experiences. Spaces where creativity, hospitality, and community all exist in the same room.

A huge thank you to @palibationspgh for the incredible pours, @birdnest.ss for bringing the cocktail and culinary vision to life, @hannahphillips.art for the stunning eight-piece exhibition, @kholsen_ for the floral installation, and @cat_burton for helping shape and curate an evening that felt truly special.

To @caitlin.girdwood, @shanevmcfarland, and @ashleekeeneyphotography—thank you for preserving these moments so beautifully. And to @thearie_cole, thank you for setting the rhythm of the entire night.

Most importantly, thank you to every single person who came with curiosity, dressed for the occasion, sparked conversations, and helped make the room feel alive. You made the night what it was.

This was only the beginning.

We’ve already started dreaming about the next intentional gathering… sometime around October.

I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who came out and made this event so special 🤍

Seeing everyone express themselves through fashion, art, food, and music was honestly beautiful to witness.
