This piece came from the idea when you find a vase perfect for your close friend. Then decide to add fresh flowers and gift it to them to remind them how special they are and hopefully brighten their day.

POV finding inspiration, safety and collaboration at your local sewing club 🧵 This special piece was created for the “What does community mean to you?” @dnagalleries group show. I knew I wanted to make something representing the joy and friendships I’ve found at @sewklahoma! This club has been a vital piece in my creative process as a fiber artist and small business owner. It’s been a positive feedback loop learning new/better sewing techniques, gaining confidence in my craft and filling my cup! It’s a safe place to vent, giggle, share ideas and met with compassion, collaboration and support. I hope everyone finds a creative community. And if you need one…please join us at @sewklahoma! We meet once a month!

Last night, Created and Found was honored by the Independent Shopkeepers Association and its members receiving the “Aspiring Shopkeeper” award‼️ This Shoppie is for those who don’t have a brick-n-mortar (yet!) but busting ass around town doing Pop-Ups in the community! I also get to share this award with the wonderful business @redbudteaandapothecary who also won last night!

Oklahoma small businesses are unmatched and I’m so grateful we had a chance to celebrate and cheer each other on! So grateful for this city and @isaokla advocating for us and being the glue keeping everyone together.

I can’t believe I’ve been popping up as Created and Found for 10 years now…. Actually insane. I’m so happy I get to have a booth in @orangepeelokc and celebrate 5 years with them next month! Thank you to all the small businesses who let me pop-up inside your store and share my passion with your customers!

“Supported & Seen” 🤝 fiber punch needle and embroidery on a thrifted mirrored frame 🔹 for @youandmeartshow: group installation of artists who’ve been impacted by child or infant loss.

TW: miscarriage, grief
Grief is a journey that shouldn’t be made alone. It’s meant to be shared, validated and processed with people. Our stories bond us. True empathy heals us. You are seen. Your grief is valid. It is not your fault. You are not meant to carry the weight of it all by yourself. Miscarriage is more common of an experience than we let on and it’s not something to be ashamed of.

Maybe you’re the one who wants to be seen. Maybe you’re the one who extends the hand to bring someone back into the fold.
My hope is that you can see yourself in this piece. I see you, I deeply understand.
