There’s so much more for me to learn about Batik. What a beautiful legacy to have this kind of cultural heritage passed down through generations with stories and traditions!

I’m excited to keep learning, creating and sharing this craft that carries history, culture and meaning 🪔🙏🏼

Note: some facts are extracted from different sources
the descriptions in the museum @mbatik.in are in Indonesian language and took some time to translate.
And forgive me for a few typos here and there 😅

@kzt.art I’m a multidisciplinary artist who works with different art mediums.

Last December, I visited Yogyakarta, which is the heart of Batik Heritage, located in Central Java. Spent about a week in Batik studio and created this for my Indonesian-Javanese friend for her wedding.

Since many are asking, I’m opening commissions but only taking very limited number. Please submit the enquiry form under links in my bio 🫶🏼

The more I learn Batik, the more I get to know how difficult it is compared to other mediums 😭

Thanks to @batikseno_jogja @berlianaaish_ for letting me bring my own paint (different from their studio) and try this painting 🤗

I never knew how to make Batik until I stepped into the studio. Back in Myanmar a lot of women cherish Batik and wear it often but no one really knows how it was made. So happy to see many people shows love to my painting 😊 Would you also make art for your bestie?

Thanks so much to @batikseno_jogja for their warm welcome and kind assistance 🫶🏼
