The lady of the castle, Terese Gröber, was born and raised here.

As the daughter of the castle’s previous caretakers, she has lived within its historic walls virtually her entire life.

Now in her 80s she lives alone in the castle, scrubbing floors, taking care of the animals such as chickens and goats, and maintaining the property.

Our guests enjoyed an amazing tour inside its beautiful rooms during our recent Fall in the Dolomites small group trip!

Love nature but not a hardcore hiker? 🍃No problem!

You can have a phenomenal time in the Italian Dolomites with as much or as little hiking as you please.

On this small group trip, we blended moderate hikes with cultural experiences such as a Farmer’s Festival with dancing, music, and traditional food!

But there are plenty of places you can reach with a cable car ride instead of hiking, it’s up to you!

DM us to learn more about a custom trip planned to your personal needs and interests 🤩🙌

Our travelers spent a day in Verona with the BEST guide who combined sips & bites with incredible storytelling to connect them with the history of Verona. 🤗

She even revealed ancient ruins hidden INSIDE a clothing store. 😮

Have you been to Verona? Tell us in the comments!

Mohngebäck: German-style sweet bread pastries filled with ground poppy seeds (Mohn). They’re especially common in South Tyrol (this is where we are in the Dolomites right now), the German-speaking part of northern Italy.

The filling is typically made from ground poppy seeds, sugar, milk, and sometimes honey or raisins. It’s nutty, rich, and slightly earthy.

🔵💜🔴🟠🟡🟢 A day spent on the island of Burano is a good day!

Our guests took a private water taxi from their hotel in Venice to the islands and were met by a local guide who showed them the best hidden corners of the island and introduced them to the lacemaking tradition.

Which color would you paint your house? Tell us in the comments!

Our guests have arrived in Venice for the “pre-tour” to our upcoming small group trip to the Dolomites!

They arrived in style with a private boat ride from the airport to their accommodations.

After lunch and an authentic Italian siesta 👌🏼 they met up with their guide who brought them into small local wine bars serving only the best Cicchetti!

What are cicchetti? Sliced bread with all kinds of possible toppings, mostly fish-based, that you wash down with a glass of wine. It’s Venice’s answer to Spanish tapas!

🤩Our fav thing to do is introduce our travelers to amazing elders. 👵🏻👴🏼

This one ☝🏼 is named Giuseppino and he’s one of the last fisherman running an active trabucco.

What’s a trabucco?

🐠🎣Along the coast of Puglia and part of Abruzzo, they built these wooden structures jutting out into the sea so they could safely fish even when the seas were too dangerous to navigate by boat.

Our founder @sierradawnart met him and his wife (now passed) in 2018 and loves going back to visit and hear his stories. 🥰

Giuseppino is now 93 and has better posture and mobility than most 70 year olds in some places 😝

👋🏼 Ciao! I’m Sierra, Founder of Creative Edge Travel. 🥰

🇮🇹I’ve been traveling Italy since 2011, always seeking to LIVE Italy rather than SEE it.

I believe travel isn’t about the photos you take but the laughs you share with locals and the new perspectives you gather. 👨🏻‍🌾 (Anyone else?)

That’s why Creative Edge Travel specializes in Italy’s lesser-known areas that haven’t changed FOR tourism- where our travelers can participate in the traditions, feel like family, and experience the authentic, everyday life in this incredible country! ✨🇮🇹💗

It would be an honor to help you craft a unique and immersive adventure in Italy in 2027. Head to the link in bio to learn about custom travel planning!

We live for hidden gems! 😍👌🏼

Sierra, our Founder, just spent 2 days visiting our partners in the little-known corner of Puglia called Gargano and introducing next year’s tour leader, Alessandra, to our favorite people and places. 💗

But Alessandra isn’t new to Gargano- she spent her childhood summers camping along the seaside with her family here. ⛺️

The first photo was taken by Matteo Falcone, also pictured here..he’s our local guide at Monte Sant’Angelo.

Seaside time in Puglia with a side of gelato and a dear friend who is 95 years old 🥹

For those who travel to LIVE the destination- we’re here to connect you to the heart of the authentic culture!

🫣 Some people hate Venice. But they’re going there in the heat and most crowded time.

Venice in the off season- when the weather starts requiring an extra sweater in your bag or a full coat and scarf- is such a magical place. ✨🤗

Wander the maze of streets and see where they lead you. 😍 You’ll have the exciting feeling that there is something special to be discovered around every corner.

😌 Do you like Venice, yes or no? Tell us in the comments!
