Everything I did to recharge before my crazy season begins🍃

Taking time off when you’re self-employed is really hard!
But I think I did a pretty good job💁🏻‍♀️

I actually really switched off this year, and feel so much more refreshed & inspired from it!

I didn’t feel the need to create, share or scroll and it was just lovely🙌🏻

But Im back now, and ready for a busy few months ahead🤗

Absolutely loved directing & shooting this campaign for @theagbyarthurgourounlian autumn winter collection💜

The new jumpers & socks are bold & vibrant and needed an e-commerce presence to match🧦🌈!

We shot the collection in the gorgeous @kovestudios.ie in Cork, ready for their launch on October 1.

Big thanks to @gourounlian for trusting me to capture your creations, to our wonderful models and to @yvonne_long2015 for assisting me on the day📸

Most content doesn’t flop because the algorithm is “against you.”

It flops because it wasn’t created with enough intention.

Before I create any piece of content, I ask myself a few simple questions👇🏼

• Who is this for?
• What do I want someone to take away from it?
• Would I stop scrolling for this?
• Does the first three seconds make me curious?
• What action do I want someone to take afterwards?

If I can’t answer those questions, I know the content probably isn’t ready yet.

The biggest mistake I see businesses make is trying to cram everything into one post. They want it to educate, sell, entertain, introduce the business and tell their entire story all at once.

Instead, focus on one clear message. The strongest content is always the simplest.

And don’t be afraid to ask for engagement. If you’d like people to save your post, tell them. If you want to start a conversation, ask a question. A clear call to action can make a huge difference.

Somewhere along the way, we all became convinced that every Instagram post needed to be a reel or a carousel. But single photo posts are quietly making a comeback!

People are getting tired of seeing the same formats over and over again.

The accounts that are growing right now aren’t necessarily the ones following every trend, they’re the ones keeping their content varied and interesting.

If you’re only posting reels, try mixing things up.

A single photo post can be the perfect way to:

Make a bold statement.
Share an opinion or piece of advice.
Highlight one beautiful image.
Break up your content and keep your audience engaged.
Think of it as giving your followers something different to stop and look at.

One of the biggest mistakes I see businesses make is sticking rigidly to one format because they think it’s what’s “performing best”. Remember your audience is human and wants variety. A healthy content strategy should include reels, carousels and single image posts, they all have their place.

My advice is - don’t overthink it. Choose one strong image, pair it with a bold statement or an interesting caption and see what happens.

Sometimes, less really is more.

Save this as a reminder that not every post needs to be a reel ✨
