Hamamelis budding up for its next winter bloom time- nice #plantsketcher time during my walk . A beautiful herbal small tree commonly known as witch hazel.
Also because I do love a bit of plant trivia—did you know - it takes a year for the fruit (capsule) to mature so the plants can have new bloom and year old seed capsules at the same time- in the fall, a year after pollination, the capsule splits and ejects the seeds up to 30 feet away. Ground foraging birds usually eat the seeds. #plantnerd #witch hazel #herbaltrees by @creativegardener
