“Mum… can I do something that actually feels like me after school? I don’t just want to do sports — art is my thing. I want to learn how to use all the different materials, not just scratch the surface.”

And just like that… mum starts wondering — where do I even find something like that?

What if there was a place?

A space where creativity isn’t an afterthought — it’s everything.
Where your child isn’t just “doing art”… they’re becoming an artist.

We’ve created something truly special in Townsville:
An immersive art experience designed just for kids like yours.

✨ Weekly art sessions that build real skills
🎨 Exploration of exciting mediums and techniques
👩‍🎨 Guest artists sharing their craft and passion
🌿 Connection to the local art scene
🏆 Opportunities to enter competitions and be part of real events

This isn’t just an after-school activity — it’s where your child finds their people, their confidence, and their creative voice.

It really is. It steals the time you could’ve spent making the next thing, the joy of the thing you just made, and sometimes the whole attempt before you’ve even started.

The sneaky part is that it disguises itself as high standards. But high standards say “let’s make this better,” and perfectionism says “don’t bother unless it’s flawless.” One keeps you painting; the other keeps the canvas blank.

What’s it stealing from you today: a painting, something for the studio, or just your headspace? taken in Creativity Hood by @creativityhood

🎨 Spots are filling up for our 6-Week Beginner Clay Course!

If your kid has been begging to get their hands in the clay (or you’ve just seen the mess and magic happening in our stories lately 👀) — this is it. 6 weeks of proper hands-on pottery: shaping, sculpting, glazing, the works. Real kiln, real clay, real creations they get to take home.

Ages 5–16, all skill levels welcome — no experience needed, just enthusiasm and a willingness to get a little messy 💜

Spots are limited so we can keep classes small and hands-on. Tap the link in our bio to book your kid in, or head to https://www.creativityhood.com/kids-pottery-classes

Me when someone asks what I think about our clay course 👆 I LOVE IT. No notes.

Not part of our weekly crew yet? This is your way in 🎨 6 weeks, real teacher, real ceramic pieces your kid actually gets to keep (not just glue and glitter, we promise). Starts Tue 6 Oct and spots are properly limited as we are at 80 percent capacity as it stands — once they’re gone, they’re gone.

Ages 5+ and yes, grown-ups can join too if you’re feeling it 👀

Book ya kid (or yourself) in: creativityhood.com/kids-pottery-classes

Some people see old cable reels… we saw GIANT MUSHROOMS 🍄✨

Over camp these little legends took a pile of big black plastic cable reels and turned them into the most magical mushroom creations. Paper, glue (SO much glue), paint, patterns, tiny worlds on every single one. Each kid had their own story going on, from fairy houses and spotty toadstools to full-on forest kingdoms 💜

The best bit? Watching them try to get these things into the car at pick-up 😂 Worth it. Totally worth it.

Here’s the thing… big projects can feel like too much. Too messy, too hard, too much space, too much everything. But kids don’t dream small. When you give them something bigger than them to work on, they step up SO much. They problem-solve, they work together, they get stuck and figure it out, and they walk away going “I made THAT.”

Come join the madness: https://www.creativityhood.com/classes

That’s the stuff that sticks with them. Not a worksheet, a memory. by @creativityhood

Every kid has a story in their artwork, you just have to ask 🎨
After 14+ years of teaching I’m more sure of this than ever. It’s not about making the next Picasso. It’s about kids who grow into adults who still pick up a brush and FEEL something good.
