Some things we carry so quietly, they begin to feel like skin. The doubts, the tenderness, the parts of ourselves we have learned to keep out of the light. Here, the coffee gives them texture, bringing what lives inside to the surface. Every grain becomes a small piece of what it means to be human.

To wear those feelings openly is to take ownership of them. To say, this is mine, even the parts I am still learning to love. There is beauty in allowing softness and uncertainty to share the same skin. In standing before the world without waiting to feel flawless. In recognizing yourself as someone worthy of being seen, even here, even now.

These coffee sessions are a signature of my work because they give what we carry inside a place on the surface. Our feelings, our insecurities, pieces of ourselves we’re learning to own. Especially now, I love the opportunity to slow down and create something so personal and unique together. There’s so much magic in a raw moment, and so much beauty in being human.

I get it. It’s uncomfortable to be in front of the camera.

How lucky are we to live in a time that we will be nostalgic for in the years to come. You deserve photos that will stand the test of time. You deserve to look back when you’re old and gray and remember this moment for exactly how it was. You don’t have to be the perfect, airbrushed, flawless version of yourself that you think you have to be. You are the version of yourself that your partner loves, that brought your children into this world, that your mother raised, that carries you through this lifetime. How special is it to photograph the beautiful moment that we live in, for exactly how we see it now.

I truly have the best job in the whole world. I get to show you just how beautiful you are in my eyes. I want you to bring your messy hair, wrinkled clothes, stretch marks, extra skin, your hesitancies to our session together. That’s what makes you so much more beautiful.

You deserve photos. You deserve to see how beautifully unique you are. You deserve to take up as much space as you need.

Kat, Jeremy, and Josh just moved in together, and it already feels like home.

Jeremy and Kat have this really quiet, steady love between them. You can see it in the way he looks at her and she looks back. It seems that they don’t really need words to communicate. Kat and Josh are more playful, pulling each other into laughter. And the three of them together co-exist in such a calm and strong foundation.

There’s no one way for love to look. This is theirs, and it’s full and real and beautiful. I feel so honored to have gotten to document them in this first home altogether.

Love is love is love. I love this love.
