Sometimes all you need to do is listen 😌 Singing harmonies from my track “listen” with @hannahjulian_music and @eliza_lassman - this song is out next Tuesday as part of my new EP Evergreen, & we’re playing headline show to celebrate!! Come join us plus support acts @kittyonealmusic and @qsrobyn at @sjq_dalston from 7pm. Tickets at link in bio or on the door.

I absolutely love these harmonies and can’t wait to share more about this track, which is about finding and listening to your inner determination.

Plus I’ve been making handmade merch for the EP launch, including a Creature & Machine TEA BLEND?!? 🫖 I mean come on 😍 It’s gonna be a fun one 😄

what if you just need to listen?

I wrote this song about listening to the voice deep down inside that tells you what you really need to hear, and not being afraid of what it says.

Come listen to us & this song LIVE! Me & the band are playing some shows 8th/9th Nov to celebrate releasing this song and others on the extended version of our EP, Evergreen. Come join!! Tickets in bio.

Proud to finally publicly announce that I’ve founded a label, larkspur records 🥳💐🧡

I’ve experienced the music industry from many sides - artist, producer, promoter, manager, fan. Getting to participate in the joy of making music is the greatest privilege of my life…. But the music industry is not an easy place to make a sustainable income, maintain a healthy lifestyle, keep your mental health intact - or to be a woman.

It doesn’t have to be like this, and that’s why I founded larkspur. We are a small artist-led team aiming to quietly create our own corner of the music industry, where we prioritise collaboration over ego, real life over algorithms, and respect over competition.

Our first artist releases are coming very soon - make sure to follow @larkspur.records for updates. Meanwhile, you’ll find us running our intimate gig series @plantshopsessions 🪴🎵 (with some exciting news tba soon over there 🙃)

Thanks for supporting our mission for a healthier, kinder and more open-hearted music industry 🧡

It’s been a whole month since our EP Evegreen was released and we played our headline show at SJQ Dalston to celebrate. Since then Lilly & Hannah went on a lil field trip to play @tewkesburylive which was a lot of fun ☺️Hannah’s been releasing dance videos and preparing for her very own headline show on August 22nd !! ; Eliza’s been saving babies’ lives as per usual; and Lilly’s been in the studio producing two albums, and going to the emergency vet way more than is reasonable. Which might explain why our social media has been so quiet… band life and normal life is a tricky balancing act and sometimes the balance falls off the rails a bit!

Anyway, Evergreen is by no means done…. There’s more story to tell! As those of you who came to the headline show know, the extended version of the EP featuring this song, Crumbs, and another new song, is available to buy on Bandcamp for the time being - before being released to streaming services in the Autumn 🍂 We’re looking forward to more harmonies, more storytelling and more live gigs come September, and hope you’re all enjoying the summer (and hopefully not spending as much time in the vets or the hospital as Lilly & Eliza are)

Thank you so much to everyone who came to a gig in the last few months, streamed evergreen, bought the EP on Bandcamp, and said really lovely things about this project. It’s a dark topic but an important one and it’s been very therapeutic to release this music!

See you soon, Lilly x

On Tuesday we celebrated the release of Evergreen with a launch party at @sjq_dalston and I still haven’t quite processed it. So many people came, helped out, bought tea, cheered, hugged me, talked to me about the themes of the EP, encouraged me, thanked me for being vulnerable, and it’s just a bit too much to take in right now!!! The themes of this EP are incredibly personal and important to me, and as anyone who has survived abuse will understand it’s a process that you mostly go through alone and in silence. To be in a room full of people listening to - and dancing to - this story was really…. Weird?!? In the best possible way?!? It felt surreal that this music is finally out in the world and so so joyful to have people respond to it positively. I was very nervous to release this EP, but the people who came on Tuesday made me feel like it was all worth it. Thank you so much for coming!! Thank you most of all to @hannahjulian_music and @eliza_lassman and Callum on the drums, the most incredible band, and to the fantastic team at SJQ including our sound engineer Mark, and to our support acts @kittyonealmusic and @qsrobyn.

There’s some really lovely footage we got from this gig so stay tuned for that! Now I’ve got to get myself a reality check, and a fan 🥵☀️ oh, and …. GO LISTEN TO THE EP! Evergreen is out now - can’t believe I finally get to say that!! by @creature.and.machine

“These are my weapons of choice against your violence - a cup of tea, some empathy & a melody” - if you do ‘t believe how much I love a cuppa, then listen to the lyrics of “Says About Me” 😊🫖 Come buy your very own jar of the Creature & Machine loose leaf tea blend at our headline show on 7th July. Maybe I’ll sell some online afterwards if enough people want to buy?? I had so much fun testing out blends!

STRINGS - out now :) the sexiest song I’ve ever dared release 🤭 This song is about reclaiming power through pleasure. It’s about saying - I can be shy and also sexy. I can be scared and also sexy. I can be weird and also sexy. I can be awkward and also sexy. I can have a normal, ordinary looking body and also be sexy. Sexy is not something that’s reserved for a certain section of the population who look or behave a certain way or belong to a particular culture. Sexuality and pleasure is an essential part of being alive. Sexuality & pleasure is something I’m allowed & can learn to regain access to, no matter what happened in the past.

Like many of us, I’ve got experiences in my past, lodged in my body, of crossed boundaries, broken consent, and shame around sex. Most of us have experienced shame & fear attached to our bodies, our sexuality, and our physical interactions with others. But I didn’t want those experiences and those people to own or define my relationship to my body or to my pleasure. So I went exploring 😉 This song is that story, written about my own journey of reclaiming my power through sexual exploration. I absolutely LOVE THIS SONG 😄 it’s been through about six million different versions, different lyrics, different arrangements, different production, and I’m so happy to finally share it with you all!

If this is something you relate to at all, I highly recommend the work of Esther Perel, Bessel van der Kolk and Emily Nagoski as great starting points for digging deeper into embodiment, pleasure, trauma and the broader spectrum of sexuality.

ALSO. There’s actually an extended version of this song 🙃 Stay tuned for more about that…
