Hey y'all. It's been a minute. Life has been kind of crazy.

Long time, no post. I know.

A couple of times a year, I allow myself to indulge in a dark manicure, usually around Halloween and Christmas/New Year's, when I feel like I can get away with it.

The unfortunate reality of funeral service is that, in most cases, the more heteronormative and conventionally "normal" you appear, the better you're received. So, for most of the year, I keep things relatively understated. Nothing too flashy. Mostly lighter colors with an interesting shift here and there.

Anyways. Shutting the fuck up now.

For my "Halloween" manicure, I finally went with the iconic @opi Lincoln Park After Dark. A purple so dark it's practically black and so appropriate for the Scorpio season.

🦂 🖤

The green started peeling, so it was time for a refresh. Another Gemini color it is. Conveniently, softer yellows are apparently trending right now.

Fun fact, yellow is my favorite color, despite the fact that my soft summer ass generally disagrees. Luckily, pale cool-toned yellows seem to squeak by.

I know my teenage self would be horrified. But I've stopped trying to explain myself awhile ago.

It's that time of the month again. A fresh coat for the new Gemini season.
Did a poll. Sage green won.
Claws in the actual crematory this time.

Shade is @opi Cargo All Out.

Once more, @lesmainstheworks did stellar work.

On occasion, I have to neuter/neutral myself. Usually when I get a new set.

I have to deal with a lot of mortuary wax for the immediate future.

Shout-out to @lesmainstheworks for always doing a stellar job.

After a little over three weeks, it was time. Had to get myself together and show-ready.
Still kind of in disbelief that I’m opening for Suffocation in less than a week. That doesn’t feel real yet.

Anyway. Nude to black ombré.

Nude: @dndgel Suede Sunset

Big thanks to @lesmainstheworks for killing it once again.

My initial post.

Yes, this is a new account. Just a place for me to put pictures of nail sets so that I'm not bombarding my main Instagram account's feed every time I get my claws done. I'll probably get around to posting some older sets that I enjoyed.

This is my most recent set when it was fresh.

@opi Complimentary Wine.

Now time for the personal thoughts.
I'm going to say it. I hate red. I despise it. Red is a color I rarely get. I'm sure there's some underlying psychological stuff going on as to why I don't like red on my nails but I'll examine that another time.
But once or twice a year, usually around April, because red is an Aries color, I usually get some shade of red to see if I've changed my mind about it.
Usually I haven't but this shade of dark wine red. I was able to tolerate for 3 weeks. Go me.
So, progress. I guess.
