We wanted to create a place where children could have the kind of childhood we believe they deserve. Time to play, explore, get muddy, make friends and learn about the world around them.

A little school in nature, where children can thrive academically without missing out on the magic of childhood. 💚

A year in the forest... in 90 seconds 💚✨

At Croí na Foraoise, we blend: The Irish Primary Curriculum with Forest School Principles and Play Based Learning.

Rather than bringing the classroom outdoors, we use the outdoor environment as a rich learning space where curriculum objectives, play, exploration and child development naturally connect. This allows children to learn deeply while maintaining the joy, wonder and freedom that childhood deserves.

Learning experiences are carefully planned to support curriculum development across all areas while making full use of the outdoor environment. Learning is often integrated, allowing children to make meaningful connections across curriculum areas through hands-on experiences.

Academic year one almost over and we are so proud of everything we have achieved this year alongside our group of students. It works, and it is just magic! 💚🌿✨ taken in Crubany, Cavan by @croi.forest.school

As well as planting 5,651 trees at 346 schools this year as part of Coill na nÓg we hit the road recently with our programme partner @eflow_m50tolls to visit the 3 schools who also shared a €12,000 #OutdoorClassroom prize fund.

It was such a joy to visit Scoil Mhuire Borrisokane, #Tipperary, #Midleton CBS Primary School #Cork and Croí na Foraoise Forest School #Cavan.

We were amazed at all the incredible work to help local trees, hedgerows and connect young people to nature.

Thank you to all students and staff for such a warm welcome and continued success! @scoilmhuireborrisokane @midletoncbsprimary
