Had such a cozy meal at Crosby’s Kitchen on the Southport Corridor in Lakeview — warm, friendly, and exactly the kind of neighborhood spot that makes you want to come back. Their menu leans into comforting American classics, and the service made the whole experience feel extra welcoming.

We started with the filet sliders and lobster deviled eggs, then moved on to the Maryland crab cakes and Bang Bang Steak Salad. For sides, we had the buttery grilled asparagus and crispy Brussels sprouts with bacon, candied jalapeño, sherry vinegar, and parmesan.

But dessert was my favorite part — the homemade carrot cake was so moist, full of real carrot, and had that comforting homemade feel. And the warm skillet cookie with vanilla ice cream and caramel was such a good finish. 😍

crosby’s kitchen is a family-friendly neighborhood restaurant in the southport corridor serving midwestern-inspired comfort food and classic american dishes.

it was packed when we stopped by on a saturday night. we started with the filet sliders, which came with thick pieces of filet, and the lobster deviled eggs. the prime rib was cooked nicely, and the grilled halibut was also very good.

we ended up ordering the turkey burger after both our server and the customer next to us recommended it, and had to admit they were right.
a casual neighborhood spot if you’re looking for comfort food around southport.

Last one in our dinner series for a while.

For years, she’s been the one behind the camera at these dinners, narrating everything and making me laugh while I’m just trying to eat.

This time, there were two of my three kids sitting at the table.

She’s my youngest, and in a few days she’s leaving for freshman year. Which means that after she goes, all three of my kids will be in college.

We went to @crosbys_kitchen in the Southport Corridor, one of those neighborhood staples we’ve been going to for years. American classics, a familiar table, and one more dinner before everything changes a little.

I don’t know when she’ll film one of these again.

But I’m really glad we made this one.

If you’ve already had that last dinner before your kids left, I see you.

We’ve been going here for brunch for years & here’s a few of my favorite things for their weekend brunch. The lobster deviled eggs will alwayssss be ordered. I also (personally) like a mix of breakfast & lunch items, so I feel like I’m getting the full range.
