We are so very grateful 🙏🏾 for Nina Morgan @nina_thee_builder , skilled builder, for leading our farm-style fencing program as a part of our Skill Share Series! Sustainable urban agriculture 👩🏾‍🌾🧑🏾‍🌾 is full of unique challenges, but one of the challenges high on the list is protecting our crops from animals.
While we don’t have any deer to worry about in the city, we have plenty of pawed friends 🐾that can cause some serious damage.
Nina led community members in build planning, tool handling, and fence construction, empowering us to build with confidence!

We want to thank our community participants, partner organizations and sponsors, the @bbgardens, the @mctoolbank, our neighbors, and the amazing Kuulei Robinson @crowned808 for preparing nutritious and hydrating lunches, fresh made juices, and waters.

We’re building, together. Join us! taken in North Titusville by @crowned808

Apprenticeship dump 📸🌱

We’re about halfway through this year’s Freedom Harvest Farmer Apprenticeship, and our apprentices have already accomplished so much!

From harvesting fresh food on our farm lots and packing CSA boxes, to visiting farms all across Alabama—from Tuskegee to Montgomery and beyond—they’ve been gaining hands-on experience and building community here in Fountain Heights.

It’s been incredible to watch their growth, and we can’t wait to see what they accomplish during the rest of the program. 💚 by @crowned808

🌞✨

8/22 marks 50 solar returns.
This year has brought so much clarity.

BIG LEO ENERGY 🦁

✨ Learning how to love in new ways — with openness, courage, and calm.
✨ Preparing to become a grandmother — a role I receive with reverence, joy, and awe.
✨ Relaunching my business — this time aligned with who I actually am, not who I thought I had to be.

I’ve shed timelines, redefined beauty, and reclaimed my voice.
I move slower now — but with more purpose.
I feel more — but I fear less.
I lead — but I no longer chase.

At 50, I am both soft and unshakeable.
Not starting over — rising deeper. by @crowned808

Posted @withregram • @sincereluvdagod “Talk to them like they can understand… because they can.”

This father gave his baby step-by-step instructions—and look how he followed every move until he climbed down safely. No baby talk, no doubt, just respect for his intelligence.

In my book From the Womb to Illmatic, I break down why this matters so much.
Your baby may not speak yet, but that brain is ON.
They’re decoding tone, direction, rhythm, intention—and they’re learning how the world works by how we speak to them.

🎧 Just like Nas painted vivid pictures on Illmatic, we teach our kids how to think and move through the world with our words—starting from the womb.
