We are so very grateful 🙏🏾 for Nina Morgan @nina_thee_builder , skilled builder, for leading our farm-style fencing program as a part of our Skill Share Series! Sustainable urban agriculture 👩🏾‍🌾🧑🏾‍🌾 is full of unique challenges, but one of the challenges high on the list is protecting our crops from animals.
While we don’t have any deer to worry about in the city, we have plenty of pawed friends 🐾that can cause some serious damage.
Nina led community members in build planning, tool handling, and fence construction, empowering us to build with confidence!

We want to thank our community participants, partner organizations and sponsors, the @bbgardens, the @mctoolbank, our neighbors, and the amazing Kuulei Robinson @crowned808 for preparing nutritious and hydrating lunches, fresh made juices, and waters.

We’re building, together. Join us!

Apprenticeship dump 📸🌱

We’re about halfway through this year’s Freedom Harvest Farmer Apprenticeship, and our apprentices have already accomplished so much!

From harvesting fresh food on our farm lots and packing CSA boxes, to visiting farms all across Alabama—from Tuskegee to Montgomery and beyond—they’ve been gaining hands-on experience and building community here in Fountain Heights.

It’s been incredible to watch their growth, and we can’t wait to see what they accomplish during the rest of the program. 💚

Summer transplants are in at Titusville Community Garden! 🪴 Thank you for spending your Saturday afternoon with us and our community 💚!

We installed over 60 transplants of tomatoes 🍅 , peppers 🫑 , eggplants 🍆 , flowers 🌼 and herbs 🌿 alongside our thriving Spring transplants. We learned about the benefits of flowers beyond pollinator 🐝 attraction and practiced interplanting.

This was the last of our installation sessions in our community education series. In our summer sessions, we will learn about trellising and training, succession planting, and pruning!

Returning customer! Yes, she returned on yesterday to get more waistbeads added to her. She love wearing them and always bring beautiful energy when she comes to KUBBS.

So, I had the opportunity to add three more to her body. She also brought back her brown one for me to retie on her. And the bottom one is still holding on to her hips that I adorned her with early last year.

These waistbeads looks beautiful on her body and I'm so glad that I had the pleasure 🙏🏾 of adding more and she trust to come to me to be adorned. She was very happy and pleased when she left my home.

Click the link in the bio to order your waistbeads.
