Crowns of Courage began with one brave girl…At age 10, Ashlyn faced a life-threatening illness and one of her biggest fears was losing her hair. When she discovered she could cut her own hair and have it made into a halo wig, it gave her confidence to be herself, and the idea to help other kids feel the same.

In 2016, we made 12 wigs for children locally in Arizona. Now, 10 years later, we’ve created 1,292 wigs for children in almost every state - all at no cost to their families.

2️⃣ Healthy, color-treated hair is accepted — just no gray, please

Our hope is that we can make the challenges of chemotherapy a little easier for children. We’ve seen time and time again that our halo wigs brings out a child’s inner strength and confidence and we’re just grateful to play a small part in their journey 💗

Sometimes, a traditional wig just isn’t the right fit, and halo wigs offer these children another option, one that allows them to feel comfortable and a little more like themselves.

Every donation helps us give a child experiencing chemotherapy-related hair loss a little more comfort, confidence, and a sense of normalcy during treatment.

During September, in honor of Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month, we pledged a portion of our Bougie Bee sales to @crownsofcourage, an incredible organization that provides beautiful, real-hair wigs at no cost to children experiencing hair loss from cancer treatment.

A haircut with a whole lot of heart behind it. 🤍🥹

When Maddie decided she was ready for a big change, she knew she wanted that change to have a purpose.

She asked her stylist at @astrandofbeauty if they partnered with any hair donation organizations, and that’s when she learned about Crowns of Courage. After reading Ashlyn’s story, our mission immediately hit close to home.

Maddie’s best friend, Kara, was diagnosed with leukemia at just 16 years old and later needed a bone marrow transplant. Maddie was there beside her through it, including the day Kara made the difficult decision to cut her hair.

She saw firsthand how much hair can mean during an already incredibly difficult time.

So when it came time for Maddie to cut her own, she chose to donate it in hopes of helping another child feel a little more confident and a little more like themselves. 🤍

Thank you, Maddie, for choosing Crowns of Courage and turning your big change into something even bigger. 👑
