⚔️ Epic Christian Fantasy Author ⚔️
❤️ Stories that stir the heart and nourish the soul
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
I’ve been thinking a lot about the common theme in my stories, especially as I struggled to come up with a tagline for my “brand.” I don’t always write in the same genre, so how could I lump them all together with a single line? And then it hit me in an unexpected moment of divine inspiration. Heart and Soul Stories. As soon as that line dropped into my mind, I knew it was right. My stories may not always run along the same lines. I completed an epic fantasy series last year. This summer, I worked on a contemporary romance. I’m also planning to release a middle grade novel later this year. But what do they have in common? They’re stories that (hopefully) stir the heart and soul. And, honestly, I’m so thrilled to not only settle on an author tagline but to find one that really fits the kinds of stories I want to tell. So, what do you think of my new tagline? Do you agree with how I described what Heart and Soul stories are? How would you describe them differently? #authorlife #heartandsoulstories #fictionwriter by @crystalgrantauthor

✨ MY BOOKS ✨ ⚔️ The Gateway Trilogy ⚔️ What’s it about? An epic battle between forces of darkness and an army of light and a forbidden romance that ends up right in the middle of it. Who’s in it? A dark soldier who thinks he’s got his future planned out until he stumbles into the home of a peasant girl who makes him rethink everything he thought he knew about the side he’s fighting for. A young washerwoman who dreams of being seen as more than what she is, but has her life turned upside down when she mistakes an enemy soldier as an ally. A prince who is struggling to overcome a tragic mistake in his past so that he can lead his army against the enemy who wants nothing more than to destroy his kingdom. These are my books. Who are they for? Fans of swoony but clean romance, medieval settings with lots of sword action, ensemble casts you would fight for, and themes of hope and light when all seems lost. Sound like something you’d be interested in? The Gateway Trilogy is complete and available now. No need to wait after you read that cliffhanger. You know the one I’m talking about, right? 😉 I kinda like them. I hope you do, too. ❤️ Which ones have you read? Do you have a favorite? #shadowcastbook1 #lightshedbook2 #darkendbook3 #thegatewaytrilogy #crystaldgrant #crystalgrantauthor by @crystalgrantauthor

⭐️ Author Intro ⭐️ It’s been a while since I’ve done an intro post, and I have a some new friends following, so now seems like a good time! Hi! I’m Crystal! I write stories with imperfect characters who struggle and fall, but through faith and courage keep rising and growing. My latest book, Darkend, released this fall and is the epic finale to my fantasy series, The Gateway Trilogy. The first book, Shadowcast, was a 2024 Christy finalist, and the next one, Lightshed, was a 2025 Carol finalist. Here’s a few other things about me: * I’m a Christian first. My relationship with Jesus is the most important thing in my life, and I strive to live and work in a way that honors and points others to Him. * Christmas is my favorite holiday, but fall is my favorite season. * I’m a big fan of musicals: anything from Holiday Inn to Summer Stock to High School Musical to The Greatest Showman. * I’m hearing impaired. So if you ever try to get my attention, and I just walk on by, I’m not trying to be rude, I promise! 😅 * I’m a dreamer. My head is constantly in the clouds (as the second picture indicates), and I’m very good at making big plans. In my mind. * I’m a kindergarten/first grade teacher at a small Catholic/Christian school. * Besides writing, I also edit for @quill.and.flame.publishers and @twenty_hills . * I once broke my own horse to the saddle. I haven’t ridden for years now, but I’d love to get back into the saddle. #goals * I’m awkward and clumsy in person, as I depict in my recent Awkward Author reels. No acting there. That’s genuine awkwardness, friend. 🥴 * I love coffee! But I prefer it mild and sweet. * I’m still single, learning to trust my future into God’s hands while living fully in the present with contentment and hope. If you follow me on IG, you’ll get some book recs, writing updates, friendly conversation, goofiness, because I can’t help it, and hopefully heartfelt encouragement. ❤️ Do we have anything in common? 😃 #authorintro #crystaldgrant #crystalgrantauthor #christianfictionwriter #christiansingle by @crystalgrantauthor

If there were any movies I could choose to watch for the first time again, it would be Lord of the Rings, hands down. I'll never forget the high I was on after watching this trilogy. I had not read the books before then, so the story was entirely new and fresh. And I've loved it more every time I've read, watched, or listened to it. But nothing will beat that first experience. My siblings and I just finished watching it again this past weekend. The evening was complete with a book-inspired meal and snack and a yummy dessert made by @emilygrantauthor . I could've taken pictures of the Hobbit food or a group selfie. I thought about it, but in the end decided not to. I just wanted to enjoy the moment. This series always leaves me with a melancholy hangover, and I'm tempted to start from the beginning again. But I'll restrain myself and save the experience for another time. And in the meantime, I'll be thinking of brave hobbits, courageous warriors, grumpy wizards, and noble kings. What's a movie you would watch again for the first time? by @crystalgrantauthor

⭐ To save the woman he loves, he may have to sacrifice everything he believes in. ⭐ Lightshed's romance is turbulent with forbidden love and opposing loyalties, but there are some sweet moments that make me giddy. 😁 Such as the very first secret meeting. 😘 Or when he shows her litter of fox kits, because he knows she'll love them. 🦊 Or the moment when Mason threatens to 💀 his own men when she's threatened. Lightshed is Book 2 in The Gateway Trilogy, and it's full of stolen moments and swoony kisses, along with: Dark powers with a price Love vs Loyalty Morally conflicted hero Forbidden romance Enemy territory No spice romance This book also has probably my very favorite scene in the whole series. It's both heartbreaking and beautiful. 🥲 No waiting around. No filler. Just higher stakes, darker secrets, and bigger consequences. Lightshed raises the stakes and never lets up. Are you ready? Venture into the Gateway now with Shadowcast, Book 1. by @crystalgrantauthor
