POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

If I were to recommend books based on RGOYB (yes minus Indigo and violet), these are the ones I'd tell you.

Can I mention how difficult it was to find yellow books?! I also didn't have a lot of orange options, but that selection was better than yellow. That means I need you authors to convince your covert designers to give us more yellow covers!

Turns out I have no yellow, orange, or blue summer shirts. The Peru shirt is my son's, the bright yellow was one of my dad's golf shirts, and the orange one is one is Fred's. My black, gray, and dark blue shirts don't give me a lot of options for a tell like this.

I could parody this audio and do one with shades instead of colors! Am I the only one chuckling at the idea?

Here is my color wheel of books! Do you have a favorite color and book pairing?

Briars & Blood is a collection of novellas that rediscover the beloved Beauty and the Beast themes in various fantasy settings. A wolfman makes a fatal error, leaving his heart iced with guilt, but he’s afraid to accept help from the beautiful ward who could melt it.

A man who is half machine is imprisoned by his father and cursed to be stigmatized as soulless—until a servant girl risks exposure to help him reclaim his humanity. A girl branded as a beast and a boy who dreams of becoming a legend set out to bring magic back to their world. In a tale inspired by Celtic mythology, a storyteller meets a young man trapped by a curse and must find the story that will save them both. A handful of beastly excerpts and beautiful bonus content lies in the back matter of the book for those who just can’t get enough. Each Beast has their own curse, and every Beauty their own obstacles. Despite their differences, they must work together... or suffer the consequences.

Apples & Arrows is a collection of novellas and novelettes that rediscovers the macabre and magical world of Snow White in various fantasy settings. A stepsister struggles with her jealousy toward the girl everyone else finds the most beautiful in the land. A hunter fights against duty and love. A huntsman embraces the frozen tundra to save the princess he believes is worth everything. A guard hides who he really is to protect the one he loves most. A future empress lays dying after eating a forbidden fruit, and her closest friend travels to the forsaken lands to find a cure. Each Snow White has her adversary, and each hero will face endless blockades in the way to save the one he or she loves. Interspersed with poetry, this collection is filled with hope, heart, and the fight for a happily ever after.

Realm Makers 2026 Recap: Days 2-3! Friday and Saturday were a blur of workshops, author meet-ups, panels, book-buying, some crazy cackling (IYKYK), and more! There are so many people I didn’t get to see or spend time with, and I wish I had more pictures of all the wonderful people I did see, but it was a beautiful whirlwind. I’m so grateful for all of you in my life! ❤️ #writer #christianfiction #editor #realmmakers #writersconference

If only I had listened to that still, small voice when I was typing my original text before it magically disappeared, my reel editing went back to its original setting, and the music was removed.

I think from now on I'll put all of my text into a doc and then transfer it here so I can avoid this in the future. Crying over a lost reel isn't the greatest.

Anywho...

One of the things I had mentioned was that I've been considering changing my instagram handle. The flower season is pretty short here in MN and I haven't seen a single monarch yet, which also makes that season short. I saw a swallowtail about a month ago, but it was about a mile from my house.

I just can't figure out what my new handle would be and really cute or fun ones are already taken. Any suggestions if I decide to go through with it?

In the spring I paired my flowers with books. Thankfully, I have enough books that I was able to find colors that closely matched my flowers!

Iris & The Tangled Tale of the Woolgathering Castoffs by Sharon J. Mondragon

Peony "Pink Hawaiian" & How Sweet It Is by @andrea_christenson_author

Iris & Veiled in Smoke by @author_jocelyn_green

Peony "Princess Bride" & An Uncommon Courtship by @kristiannhunter

Iris "War Chief" & Darkend by @crystalgrantauthor

Peony "Joanne Marlene" & The Gentleman Spy by @ericavetsch

Globe Amaranth & To Spark a Match by @jenturanoauthor

Peony "Old Rose Dandy" & While We're Far Apart by @lynnaustinbooks

Cosmos "Sonata" & No Journey Too Far by @carrieturansky

Have you read any of these?

Thanks to publishers for several of these books for either launch teams or tours, but I also purchased several!

Realm Makers Expo Day 2!

I finally finished sorting through my photos from the last day of the Realm Makers Expo.

I got pics taken with several authors I’ve read (and one new author whose book I’m super excited to read soon). I know I missed a few others who I said hi to, but forgot about taking photos at the time. Hopefully we will get another chance sometime!

I’ve tried tagging each photo. Will see if it works the way I am hoping it does! Instagram keeps changing things and I can’t keep up!!
