This is what Caribbean excellence looks like! 🇹🇹🇯🇲🇨🇼🇲🇶🇧🇧🇻🇨🇰🇳🇬🇩🇱🇨🇦🇬🇧🇸🇭🇹🇬🇵🇩🇲🇩🇴🇬🇾🇵🇦🇸🇷🇲🇸🇻🇮

Last Saturday we successfully hosted our first SOLD OUT launch event!🥂

Over fruit punch and stuffed bakes, we introduced the Caribbean Scholars Foundation, shared our vision for the future and heard from a phenomenal panel of Caribbean professionals across tech, law and academia 👩🏾‍💻📚👨🏾‍⚖️

A special thank you to Danielle, a young champion from the @theblackcurriculum who delivered an inspiring presentation about TBC and the vital work they continue to do✨

This is just the beginning.
More events. More mentorship. More representation.

👀 Stay tuned — will you be at the next one?

👇🏾 Tag someone who should be in the room next time.

Calling all global brands and corporate companies, it’s time to invest in UK Caribbean culture outside of carnival! We are entrepreneurs, academics, professionals etc too!

Caribbean culture shouldn’t just be remembered in the summer, we also matter 365 days a year.

Invest in our education, careers, politics & wellness too.

A Jamaican taught the modern world how to understand culture, media and power 🇯🇲🌍

His name was Stuart Hall.

Born in Kingston in 1932, Hall became one of the twentieth century’s most consequential intellectuals and a foundational architect of cultural studies.

His work transformed how the world understands race, identity, representation, ideology, media and diaspora.

Hall demonstrated that culture is never merely entertainment, identity is never entirely fixed, and media does not simply reflect reality. It actively participates in constructing it.

At a time when questions of who is represented, who is misrepresented and who possesses the power to define society sit at the centre of global public life, Hall’s ideas have only become more urgent.

The inaugural edition of The ETC Intelligence Collective begins in collaboration with the London-based @cscholarsfoundation, examining the life and intellectual legacy of a Caribbean thinker who fundamentally changed how the world interprets itself.

His name should not be peripheral to Caribbean knowledge. It belongs at its centre.

This is Stuart Hall.

Had you encountered Stuart Hall or his work before today? Tell us below, then share this with someone who should know his name. taken in New York, New York by @cscholarsfoundation
