Just in time for Homecoming and Family Weekend, we have to throwback to our award-winning floats from the Homecoming Parades of the past!

While this tradition is no longer part of the festivities, or CM Ram Pride for what we built always lives on! As we reflect on 80 years of Construction Management, Homecoming feels a bit more special this year 🥲

80 years strong, and our connections are stronger than ever 🤝

Today’s annual Fall Career Fair was another success, and an ever present reminder of how special our community is.

From first-year students exploring career paths to soon-to-be grads securing plans for their next chapter, the CM Rams had the opportunity to engage with the professionals, alumni, and employers helping shape the future of the industry.

As we continue celebrating 80 years of CM at CSU, we’re grateful to see Ram Built Nation continue to grow and thrive 🐏🏗️ Construction management student in professional attire speaks with a recruiter while holding a folder during a career fair networking event. by @csu_cm

The competition is ON among generations of CSU Construction Management alumni as we gear up for our 80th Anniversary Celebration event on October 17!

Here is how the decades currently stack up among alumni registered for the event:

2000s: 28%
2020s: 28%
2010s: 23%
1990s: 14%
1980s: 5%
1970s: 2%

(These percentages reflect alumni registrations only. Many other guests are also registered to join the celebration!)

But registration is only one part of the competition.

During the Open House portion of the celebration, alumni can earn points for their graduation decade through games and challenges in our CM buildings.

Throughout our 80th anniversary campaign, we will also track and recognize giving by graduation decade. Rally your classmates, spread the word, and help your decade make its mark!

The decade with the highest combined score will earn bragging rights as the CSU CM Decades Champion!

Register at the link in our bio, support the campaign, and come ready to compete — let the games begin! Which decade will come out on top? Construction Management's Career Counselor and Internship Coordinator Khristy Jesse is retiring!

Jesse's time at CSU spans nearly 30 years, but it's hard to measure how many lives she's touched.

She ran the popular CM Cares community service program, in which teams of construction management students take on construction projects that benefit people with disabilities. Jesse’s other responsibilities included career fairs, internship programs and student mentorship. She also served as a union apprenticeship coordinator with AFL-CIO.

She has had an incredible impact on CSU! Read more about her career in this Q and A: https://col.st/6z8v0 by @csu_cm

Building knowledge one country at a time 🏗️🌎

This summer, our CM Rams traveled through Germany, France, Belgium, and Luxembourg, experiencing the region by rail and exploring some of Europe’s most significant cultural and historic landmarks from the Cologne Cathedral to the Belfry of Bruges!

Through site visits and discussions, students dug into topics like historical preservation, sustainability, and circular economy principles, laying the foundation for a deeper understanding of how the built environment connects people, places, and history!

As the fall semester gets rolling, we're reflecting on the summer internship our CM Ram Nishi Chaudhary completed with AD Miller in Centennial, CO!

Read more about a summer of learning, collaboration, and seeing how impactful projects come to life in our Q&A with Nishi. 🏗️✨

Q: How are you applying what you've learned from your studies to this summer experience?
A: My coursework gave me the technical foundation. Preparing hard bid packages and reviewing subcontractor scopes feels like a real-world extension of what I learned about estimating and scope definition. Communication has tied everything together. Leadership roles and volunteer work at CSU helped me build the skills I now use every day; leading preconstruction meetings, writing clear meeting minutes, coordinating with subcontractors, and sharing field observations.

Q: What is your favorite part about your summer experience?
A: My favorite part has been the chance to work in both preconstruction and project engineering. Seeing both sides has given me a much better understanding of the project lifecycle than either role alone could. The team has made a huge difference too. It is a close-knit group, and that support has meant a lot, especially as an international student learning the U.S. construction industry.

Q: What communities or groups of people do you hope to impact in your eventual career and life?
A: I want to make a meaningful impact for women and international students in construction. Both groups are still underrepresented, and I have experienced what it is like to navigate a new country and a new industry at the same time in a field that has traditionally been male-dominated.

I hope to make that journey a little easier for those who come after me, whether through mentorship or simply by showing that these spaces are for us too. I have learned how much a supportive environment can shape someone’s confidence and growth, and I want to help create that for others.

Way to go, Nishi — keep shining! CSU Construction Management student Nishi smiles while at a construction site wearing a hard hat and PPE by @csu_cm
