So many hands, hearts, and generations of knowledge came together around ʻulu. The ʻUlu Festival was a celebration of this extraordinary tree: its versatility, ancient history, and the promising future we are growing together.

CTAHR and the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology are exploring the potential of rice farming in Hawaiʻi.

Hawaii has the highest rice consumption rate per person in the country, yet imports all the rice consumed in the state. Through field experiments, we are learning how to grow quality rice in Hawaiʻi’s environment. 🌾 🍚

Bows of Summer: Sweet Land Farm

📍Sweet Land Farm, Waialua, O’ahu

It may be summer, but special projects and research still continue for many of our students on campus!

We tagged along with Dr. Rajeev Mishra and some of his animal sciences students from @ctahr as they took blood samples and collected data from the dairy goats at @sweetlandfarmhawaii . This partnership provides hands-on-experiences for our students while generating data that Sweet Land Farm can use to monitor and prevent disease in their livestock dairy goat population.
