Please send positive vibes... we started construction on our house and the weather proofing failed last night. There is water coming through the ceiling throughout the house. We had to cut the power to avoid any electrical issues so the whole fam (Erin, myself, my mom, Nick, and the kids) evacuated to a hotel.

I am so grateful for our contractor Peter Detwiler for showing up in the middle of the night to mitigate the leaks. He answered our call at midnight when we heard the first few drips and made it to the house with a crew member in less than twenty minutes. They were on the roof working in the rain for hours. Truly above and beyond the scope of their work.

This was obviously not ideal, but we are happy to be safe and dry at the hotel. The house needs to dry out, and then framing can start on the second story! Renovating a house is a journey... and we definitely picked the bumpy road, lol. by @ctfhanson

Speaking as a parent of two school aged children, and a public school teacher, I am genuinely worried when a conservative political organization celebrates what a superintendent is saying during a scheduled contract negotiation...

Future 42 states that it aims to shift Washington state politics toward free markets, personal liberty, lower taxes, and reduced regulatory barriers. It was co-founded by Dann Mead Smith, the former president of the right-wing think tank the Washington Policy Center. Local chapters are led by conservative figures, such as former Camas City Councilor Leslie Lewallen directing the Clark County branch.

I am seriously concerned that the Seattle Public Schools Superintendent ben shuldiner is unnecessarily politicizing the contract negotiations. The "public press conferences" and social media posts are focused on his experiences and perspective. This seems intentionally devisive, at the expense of the relationships our communities have with their educators. I have yet to see how he is responding to the very real needs and concerns raised by the Seattle Education Association. by @ctfhanson

Thank you to rhe organizers for inviting us, and for putting on such a great community event. For anyone that hasn't visited 16th Ave in White Center, there are some really exciting businesses worth supporting! by @ctfhanson

The Rainbow City Orchestra had a blast performing at Westfield Southcenter mall this weekend. This has become an annual event for our "summer strings" ensemble. Thank you to Southcenter for supporting live music in the community! by @ctfhanson

So grateful fir another incredible year working with the advanced orchestra and coaching chamber music at the Japan-Seattle Suzuki Institute!

I am particularly proud of what the orchestra accomplished with only 4 rehearsals. They did an amazing job performing the first two movements of Dr. Barbara Harbach's Sinfonietta fir string orchestra. It is available on her website and JW Pepper. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for contemporary string orchestra literature. Here is our performance of the first movement... over 60 kids, ages 9 to 17!

Day 2 with the Unbound Symphony did not dissapoint. I am incredibly grateful to be working with an organization that prioritizes the health of its musicians. We had the peivlege of working with @SeaPAM to learn about our bodies and how to care for our muscles. My favorite concept of the day... "musicians are athletes!"
I am SO excited for tonight's concert. Make sure you get your tickets before they are sold out! by @ctfhanson

Day 1 with the Unbound Symphony is complete. I am SO honored to be performing with this ensemble in its inaugural season! There are over 50 musicians from across the country that have come together to celebrate woman and gender non-conforming persons through music.
Do not miss your chance to see and hear what we are preparing. There are a limited number of seats left for the Friday evening concert at 7:30pm in the Highline Performing Arts Center...
