PACHINKO S2 is now on @appletv 🌟🌟

What can I say… I’m so grateful to have written for Pachinko, and I am filled with the deepest admiration for our writers room. It was a wellspring of creativity, curiosity, and inspiration. Laughter and tears, early mornings on zoom and late nights on final draft. It meant so much to write about my own history as a Korean and educate myself more in the process, especially about the Zainichi community — and to do our best to do right by them. @soozhugh (possibly the hardest working person I’ve ever met) set the tone and led us with her meticulous vision. The talent in the room was humbling, but also they were just the best people… Chang-Rae Lee, David Mitchell, @ethankuperberg @karencheee @okmpark @teenyteenylee ✨ Thank you Dani and @josh_grossman TK @bluemarblepics @mediaresstudio and @kenihana3000 !!! In awe of the incredible cast, directors, producers, translators, and crew who brought Pachinko to life and so proud of everyone involved. ❤️ by @ctinayoon

We are so honored that MOTHERLAND is in consideration for @theacademy Best Live Action Short.

This film was a labor of love made possible by so many gifted and giving people - driven to tell the story about one Korean adoptee and the emotional, cultural, and bureaucratic hardships she endures on her journey to discover the truth of her origins.

Thank you to @ptownfilm for awarding Motherland Best Narrative Short, @hollyshorts for awarding Best Director, and @csacasting for the nomination for the Artios Casting Awards. This film is what it is because of our incredible cast @tiffanychu @bluecages Taewoo Kim and @ohmine1217 and our amazing producers and crew.

Most of all, thank you to the adoptees who generously shared with us their insights and experiences to help us best tell this story, especially @abathingegg @nrshoemaker - we could not have made this without you.

Ending the year with the most special courthouse wedding in Portland, Maine with our parents and siblings on Boxing Day.

Just 16 of us in the freezing cold (9 degrees) filled with the happiness and warmth of togetherness. Cary, Lily, Jackson, and Mari sang us “Annie’s Song” by John Denver as a surprise as we walked down the aisle, and Christina immediately started crying, but then again, everyone was crying. Thank you to everyone who’s been with us since the beginning. It’s another beginning now, on the adventure-filled road ahead. Here’s to love and partnership and building life together. ♥️

xx Christina & Jacob

P.S. Wedding now, but a party later!
