Every young person deserves to feel like they belong in sport. 🏃⚽🏀

Today, launches the Canadian Sport Innovation Challenge in partnership with ThinkSport to explore new ways innovators worldwide can help more young people feel supported, included and empowered through sport.

Kids across Canada told us that confidence in sport starts with belonging, but feeling “not good enough” or not seeing relatable role models can keep them from staying in the game.

That’s why we brought together 12 Play to Lead Alumni from across Canada to share their experiences, helping ensure youth voices, lived experiences, and ideas for change were at the heart of the challenge.

Did you know sportswear discomfort is one of the leading reasons girls quit sport?

Play to Lead is changing that. Our athletes visited Sport Chek for a performance attire education session, which included Sport Chek's presentation on “Finding Your Fit”, designed to replace discomfort and intimidation with confidence and clarity.

Because finding the right fit isn't just about comfort. It's about keeping girls in the game!

Back-to-Class season is here, but some of the most important lessons don’t happen at a desk.

Through sport and recreation, kids learn confidence, teamwork, leadership, resilience, and belonging. They learn how to try again, cheer each other on, lead with courage, and grow through every practice, play, and game.

More than a soccer club ⚽️

Regent Park United started in the heart of downtown Toronto as a simple idea: give kids a place to play, belong and grow through soccer... for free.

What began as a single weekly session in Regent Park has grown into house leagues, competitive pathways, and year-round programming in 4 communities across the city.

All of it is still rooted in the same mission: removing barriers and building-in access so kids have a real chance to get on the field.

Powered by local volunteers and shaped by the neighbourhoods they're in... this is what happens when community leads.

550 miles. 21 days. One incredible purpose. 🏃‍♂️💙

At just 18 years old, @adamsaltarelli is running around Lake Ontario, tackling a marathon a day for 21 days to help more kids access the life-changing benefits of sport.

Having grown up as an athlete himself, Adam knows firsthand the confidence, community, and opportunities that sport can create. Now, he's turning that passion into action for kids who face barriers to play.

As Adam puts it: "To accomplish big goals, it has to come from a place beyond yourself. I'm doing it for a bigger cause than myself."

Recently, we celebrated the grand opening of our Toronto and Surrey community soccer pitches, marking the launch of our national initiative to build 25 pitches across Canada by 2029 ⚽️

Built in partnership with communities and designed for long-term impact, each space supports free access, ongoing programming, and greater participation in sport.

These spaces go beyond infrastructure. They’re creating lasting opportunities for children to play, connect, and thrive in their own communities.

And we’re just getting started.
