When girls see what’s possible, they can dream bigger.   This Women’s History Month, we’re celebrating women who’ve pushed boundaries in sport, including Canadian soccer legend Christine Sinclair, whose record-breaking career has inspired countless young players.   But inspiration is just the beginning. Every girl deserves the chance to get out there, build confidence and find her place on the pitch.   We’re proud to partner with @ctjumpstart on Girls Take the Pitch, a campaign helping break down barriers and bring girls together with the people, resources and opportunities that make sport more accessible and inclusive.   If you’ve been waiting for a sign to get out there, this is it. Our Community Pitch is for you, too. Grab your friends, book a game and make some room for yourself on the pitch. Book your spot at the link in bio.

This might be our most special Jumpstart Champion so far, because it is none other than our own Founder and Executive Director, Tim Adams. In recognition of his efforts over nearly two decades with Free Play for Kids, Tim will be honoured with the first-ever Community Champion Award, alongside @cansportshall's Class of 2026. The number of Edmonton kids impacted by Free Play for Kids as a direct result of Tim’s dedication is immeasurable. From a problem he identified doing a story as a journalist for the CBC in one school, Free Play for Kids is now in 26 schools providing support for 500+ Edmonton kids after the bell rings — daily. Thank you @ctjumpstart for this honour, and for powering our soccer pathway Tim has been building for nearly 20 years! From all of the coaches, volunteers, teachers, principles, janitors, donors, supporters, and staff that have been a part of this incredible accomplishment … CONGRATULATIONS TIM! 🎉 #SupportedByJumpstart

A picture says a thousand words—and when our team saw this one, we knew we had to share it. This is investment in action. ❤️🔥 A throwback to our Fire Keepers shopping with purpose—gathering supplies to bring their community impact projects to life. These Indigenous youth athletes graduated from Hope and Health’s year-long Fire Keepers Action Leadership program in August. This snapshot captures the heart of their journey: building confidence, growing life and leadership skills, and turning their care for community into action. Representation matters. Access matters. Investing in Indigenous youth leadership matters. And how incredible that sport can open the door to all of this. ⚽✨ To Canadian Tire Jumpstart: this is what your support helps make possible. Your long-term investment in access, youth development and leadership creates opportunities for young people to discover their strengths—and use them to make a difference. From our youth, our Dream Team and everyone at Hope and Health, we hold our hands up with love and deep appreciation. Thank you for believing in the possibilities and helping bring them to life. 🧡 #changinglives #indigenousyouth #sportsforkids #nonprofitorganisation

. “We can’t just say we only believe in joy when we win.” Steve Kerr, who has won nine NBA championships as a player and head coach, says joy is one of his core values, and he doesn’t treat it as a slogan. After every Warriors game, win or lose, the family room doors open and the kids flood in. Players hug their children, shoot buckets with them, and pickup games break out. His point: anyone can live their values when things are going well. Your values are tested when the game, the season or the day goes badly. If joy only shows up after a win, it isn’t a value. It’s a reaction. Coaches: are your behaviours consistent with what you fundamentally believe in or are they a product of the result of the game? Parents: the same goes for you. How you behave and show up after a tough loss tells your kids what you really believe about sport. Watch the full conversation with Steve Kerr on Better Sports Parents. Links in bio.
