Las Borinqueñas is closing today after a completely sold out run and extension. I am so incredibly proud of @estnyc, @latinxplaywrightscircle, and @boundlesstheatre that even in the face of so much uncertainty in the theatre, we were able to get the word out to our communities and prove that if you tell our stories, even the hard ones, our community will come. It’s what we’re most proud of. Thank you to this incredible team, amazing cast and SM team, and design team of my dreams. ✨ Until next time!

See you at the mango tree 🥭✨

Casting Announcement:
Marielitos
June 27 at 8:00PM in the Powerhouse Theater

In 1980, thousands of Cuban refugees arrived in the U.S. via the Mariel Boatlift. “Marielitos” were a motley crew of political dissidents, artists, prisoners, “mental patients,” and homosexuals; all eager to escape Castro’s regime. Told through the rhythms of the Caribbean and the Midwest, Marielitos centers around the linguist René Valdes’ quest for belonging, as well as his struggles as a partner and father. This tragicomic musical, both epic and intimate in scope, traces the incredible story of one immigrant’s fight to bridge cultural divides and find his place in the world. taken in Powerhouse Theater at Vassar College by @cubanbecky
