Every cup carries a story. One of hard work, tradition, passion, and people who believe deeply in what they do.

Coffee connects us across countries, cultures, and communities. And we’re grateful to be part of a journey that brings so many people together through something as simple, and as meaningful, as a cup of coffee.

Today, we celebrate everyone who makes that possible.

Welcome to the Legends of Excellence cupping session in Hanoi, Vietnam 🇻🇳

Legends of Excellence is an auction initiative by the @allianceforcoffeeexcellence and @cupofexcellence , celebrating producers whose achievements at Cup of Excellence extend far beyond a single successful harvest.

The 2026 class brings together 12 producers from six countries: six returning Legends and six new producers. Between them, they have accumulated more than 150 COE finalist placements and over a dozen national first-place wins.

I’ve personally cupped these coffees, and some of them are truly exceptional, with scores ranging from 87 to 93 points.

Expect perfumed, intensely floral coffees with notes of bergamot and mixed citrus, plenty of stone fruit in the washed lots, and jammy, fruit-forward profiles with lots of complexity in the naturals.

Very happy to share this collection with the coffee community here in Hanoi. ☕️

Chào mừng đến với buổi cupping Legends of Excellence tại Hà Nội 🇻🇳

Legends of Excellence là chương trình đấu giá của Alliance for Coffee Excellence, nhằm vinh danh những nhà sản xuất có thành tích tại Cup of Excellence không chỉ trong một mùa vụ, mà được duy trì qua nhiều năm.

Class of 2026 quy tụ 12 nông hộ đến từ 6 quốc gia, gồm 6 Legends trở lại và 6 nông hộ mới. Tổng cộng, họ đã có hơn 150 lần lọt vào vòng finalist của COE và hơn một chục lần giành vị trí số 1 cấp quốc gia.

Mình đã trực tiếp cupping bộ mẫu này, và một số mẫu thực sự rất ấn tượng, với điểm số dao động từ 87 đến 93 điểm.

Bạn có thể chờ đợi những ly cà phê thơm ngát, floral mạnh, với các note như bergamot và nhiều loại citrus, nhiều stone fruit ở các mẫu Washed, trong khi các mẫu Natural thiên về trái cây chín, jammy và có độ phức hợp cao.

Rất vui khi có thể chia sẻ những cà phê này với cộng đồng cà phê tại Hà Nội. ☕️

🇧🇷 Three new coffees from Brazil.

We’re excited to release three coffees we purchased through the 2025 Brazil Cup of Excellence Auction — each one among the coffees recognized as the top 40 coffees from Brazil’s 2025 harvest.

The Cup of Excellence is one of the coffee industry’s most rigorous quality competitions. Producers submit coffees from across the country, which are evaluated through multiple rounds of blind cupping to identify the coffees that stand out at the highest level.

We were fortunate to purchase three of those coffees at auction, each showcasing a very different side of Brazilian specialty coffee.

In 1994, José Roberto Monterroso Pineda left dairy farming behind and took a chance on coffee, beginning a journey that would transform both his life and Finca El Morito. 🇬🇹✨

High in the mountains of Mataquescuintla, he spent nearly three decades learning, experimenting, and pursuing something exceptional. In 2022, all those years of dedication came together when his washed Gesha earned 1st place in the Guatemala Cup of Excellence.

But José Roberto’s legacy goes beyond an award. Today, he continues pushing the possibilities of coffee while protecting the land that has given so much in return—preserving 70% of El Morito as forest and building a story rooted in perseverance, respect for nature, and an enduring pursuit of excellence.

Juan Diego de la Cerda grew up surrounded by the land and the coffee traditions that had shaped his family for generations. 🇬🇹✨ That connection eventually took him to EARTH University in Costa Rica to study Agronomy—but it also brought him back home, ready to write the next chapter of El Socorro.

In 1999, Juan Diego became the third generation to lead the farm. He honored what came before him while bringing his own vision: exploring new varieties, modernizing production, experimenting with innovative processing, and continually searching for ways to make each coffee better.

Today, El Socorro’s coffees reach more than 25 cli by @cupofexcellence
