We agreed “forever” won’t be a word we use during our engagement or marriage.

I know what you are thinking… but hear us out…

So many couples say forever, but we don’t use that word lightly. Of course we want to share a lifetime together but we aren’t willing to rush the promise for the sake of certainty that we can’t honestly claim.

We’re human, we evolve, we change, we grow. What we can promise is presence, choosing each other here and now, again and again. If that steady choice becomes “forever”, it will be because we lived it.

Understanding flow has been integral to my growth and development as an artist, creator, & human over the last 10 years.

I remember when I first read “Stealing Fire” by Jamie Wheal & Steven Kotler and it enhanced my view on “getting in the zone”.

This once indescribable concept practiced and experienced by meditating monks, extreme athletes, famous musicians and so forth was no longer exclusive to the elite, but could be accessed by anyone willing to better understand themselves and the various modalities to unlock this super power.

I have a found that it is not always the completion or execution of a project or goal, but the flow-inducing practice or work to get me there that evokes the most fulfillment in life.

Flow is an anti-dote or antithesis to depression.

Flow is not the consumption of something, but the channeling of energy to create and become whole and present. The byproduct of this process is merely a gift to the world.

We must only become cautious of becoming flow junkies. We mustn’t be high all the time… more on that in another post
