Sooo - I built the stop-motion Scrap Walker in @themandalorian Chapter 15!

It's an original design & 3D modeled by @mddubeau at @tippettstudio. I worked out the mechanics to make it a stop-motion puppet, did the 3D printing, assembly & lighting. Mark also did the nice, grungy paint job.

Animated by the great @tomgibbonsart & @darbid_lauer. Supervised by @madphilg & Chris Morley. Chris also setup all the motion control & did camera.

Super honored to have the chance to work on some Star Wars - and my first screen credit!

Throwback to the B'omarr Monk stop-motion puppet I built for @thebookofbobafett Season 1 CH 3 at @tippettstudio! Based on the @ilmvfx model, I engineered how everything went together & did the 3D printing & final assembly. I was particularly proud of the leg pistons made from elastic bracelet cord, hypodermic tubing and 00 nuts. The legs themselves were 3D printed in metal. We made a stand-in brain for display but the final brain jar was added at @ilmvfx - thus the push-pin marker used for tracking. @bfophoto did the internal design and machined the beautiful armature needed for animating. We had to do a lot of back and forth as one of us would often have to design something the other would base their next part on. It was an interesting mix of old-school & new tech.

@mddubeau oversaw the design & did the excellent painting & weathering. Animated by @tomgibbonsart. @cmorley8 was VFX supervisor & camera, Ken Rogerson built the motion control rig. And of course the @madphilg guided us all. I should add that this is a great simplification of what everyone did. There was so much input from everyone and bleedover on tasks - a great group effort & ton of fun.

built a 20 foot section of terrain for the monk to scurry on!

@necaofficial Dante's Inferno Room with some of my upgrades. Put a ridiculous amount of time into this thing last year and of course got side tracked! Need to finish up the lighting.

Before Oct '26 my files included a ZIP of old parts in case anyone needed them. Apparently it unzipped when uploaded and mixed with the new parts, making a confusing mess. I would download the fixed version which is much neater!

I FINALLY made it to @apexsurplus & was shopping for 4 hours! 😂 It was everything I hoped for. Mainly bought stuff for my Etsy shop but did pickup an aviation radio control and some sweet wire. For those not familiar, Apex is a Burbank institution which has supplied parts from Star Wars to Ghostbusters. They have tons of aviation and cool parts for sale and rent. by @cworthdynamics

I stumbled upon some Proton Pack Arcolectric Fresnel lamps and have them in the shop. These are 230V NEON so you will have to pull the bulb out and replace with 3mm LED (not included). These are accurate for GB 1 & 2 - I also have the cliplites used for GB 3 & 4. The red is also used on the Ghost Trap Pedal.

NOTE shop will be closed Mon 8/31 - Mon 9/7
