MEET THE CAST | CHRIS YAO

We’re delighted to introduce Chris Yao @cyao95 , one of the brilliant actors joining the cast of Stories Boys Don’t Like to Tell at @dugdaleartscentre , 9–17 October.

At the heart of the play is a group of friends who know how to laugh, joke and give each other a hard time — but what happens when the conversations become more personal, and the stories they’ve been keeping to themselves start to come out?

Chris is joining a fantastic local cast to bring these friendships, tensions and moments of honesty to life on stage.

Dear Mum,

My Queen, My Twin, My Best friend. It’s been months since your passing, I constantly ask God why were you taken from me. Nothing makes sense at all but sometimes you just can’t question God. I cannot believe you’re not coming into the new year with me. I’m fully heartbroken. You were a phenomenal woman. You were so loved by everyone, you were so beautiful inside and out. You had so much aura, always the light in the dark, a woman full of intelligence, full of love, patience and pure genuine happiness. Life will never be the same for me. I just wish I can see you, hear your voice and hug you, but I know that isn’t possible which devastates me. I miss you so much Mum, you were my rock, my biggest supporter who was always there for me through my happiest times, greatest times, sad times along with my darkest times. You never gave up on me nor judged me. You were always on hand to uplift me when needed and nurse me back to health, whether physically or mentally. The love I have for you…words cannot even describe. There’s a huge void is my heart that can never be filled and I’m fully broken but for you, I will always push through, persevere, be strong, resilient and make sure to make you proud and continue your legacy. My Queen, My Best Friend, My Everything you have gone to be with the Lord. It hurts so much and my heart is completely broken but I know you’re in a better place. I love you so so so much Mum and I will forever love you, may your soul Rest In Perfect Peace. 💔💔🕊️🕊️🌹🌹
