🌹🌹Game 1 - Horsmonden FC 1 - 2 Roselands FC Game 2 - Roselands FC 0 - 4 Horsmonden FC🌹🌹 • The curtain came down on a mixed season for us a couple of weeks ago. An inability to field an 11 against Ightham the week before, followed by 12 available for a double header against Horsmonden says a lot about the challenges we have faced. Horsmonden came into this game able to win the league still, 3 wins from their last 3 with a +10 GD would have done it for them. In the first game, a battling performance with a patched together 11 carrying injuries saw an impressive 2-1 victory, with Chiarletti bagging both goals in another brilliant performance. With Yao injured in the first game, an injured Watson had to come in on the left wing, and the lack of subs hit us hard in the second game, with an effortless 4-0 win for Horsmonden who responded well after the disappointment of losing the first game. Credit to Horsmonden, who finished the season 2nd and will now likely be promoted. For us, its a 5th placed finish and a couple of good cup runs to build on next season. It’s time to regroup with more players needed and a new manager. Long-serving gaffer Steve Underdown is taking a well deserved year out. He will be missed, more words about him to come soon…🌹 • Goal scorers - Chiarletti x2 Assists - Troka, Smart MOM - Chiarletti, Troka • 🖥 Digital designer : @seanraydesigns • #kentfootball #roselandsfc #maidstone #tonbridge #sevenoaks #football #kent #tunbridgewells #sevenoaksanddistrictleague #HorsmondenFC

🌹🌹West Kingsdown FC Reserves 2 - 8 Roselands FC🌹🌹 • An emphatic win for us in the league this week, despite going 1-0 down early on. Ray was in fantastic form, assisting Masoha with a well timed cross for our equaliser, before scoring 2 goals in quick succession. The first, a long ball from Mawson which Ray gathered, beating the defensive line and finishing well, and the second all his own work, winning the ball off a defender and running through to score from the edge of the box. Ray then assisted Akanbi, winning a header in the box before setting him up, where Akanbi showed his strength to hold off the defenders and finish well. Into the second half, and Kingsdown tried to come back into the game. A chance came their way after Burton gave away a penalty, but Mawson saved well. Kingsdown then got a goal back after a counter attack saw a one on one opportunity. Ray completed his hattrick with a thumping finish, then added another before Chiarletti and Rumble both scored through smart finishes. A notable mention to Wright, who made a phenomenal tackle to prevent a third for Kingsdown, before the ball was worked down the other end for Rumble’s goal. A great result, that was for you Paul🌹 • Goal scorers - Ray x4, Masoha, Akanbi, Chiarletti, Rumble Assists - Ray x4, Mawson, Yao, Chiarletti MOM - Ray • 🖥 Digital designer : @seanraydesigns • #kentfootball #roselandsfc #maidstone #tonbridge #sevenoaks #football #kent #tunbridgewells #sevenoaksanddistrictleague #wedtkingsdown

🌹🌹West Farleigh FC Reserves 0 - 2 Roselands FC🌹🌹 • A return to winning ways in the league at the weekend as we travelled to West Farleigh. A great overall performance, that really should have seen us score more goals, having missed some big chances. Both goals saw great teamwork to put simple finishes on a plate for both Chiarletti and Akanbi. It was also good to get a clean shirt for a hard working defence and goalkeeper, who have been unlucky in previous weeks. This win should secure our Div 2 status, as we now seek a top half finish. Best of luck to West Farleigh in their final couple of fixtures. 🌹 • Goal scorers - Chiarletti, Akanbi Assists - Yao, Chiarletti MOM - Chiarletti • 🖥 Digital designer : @seanraydesigns • #kentfootball #roselandsfc #maidstone #tonbridge #sevenoaks #football #kent #tunbridgewells #sevenoaksanddistrictleague

🌹🌹Chipstead FC Development 1 - 4 Roselands FC🌹🌹 • This weekend saw a return to a high quality performance in the league against Chipstead, who had been going very well. Despite a dominant first half, we couldn’t find the breakthrough. Chances fell to Masoha, Chiarletti, Ray, Burton and Yao, and despite good openings our finishing let us down. In the second half, a calm performance continued, with further chances coming our way. A sweetly struck left footed shot from Chiarletti, from 20 yards out, found the far top corner to open the scoring. From there, the goals kept coming. First, a great free kick delivery by Simmons found Troka who headed over the keeper into the bottom far corner. Our third came after good work between Masoha and Ray, saw a driven cross into the path of the arriving Simmons who tapped home. Chipstead had a route back into the game after Troka was adjudged to have tripped the Chipstead winger. Despite getting a hand to the ball, Mawson couldn’t keep the resulting penalty out. Despite this, the game was wrapped up 5 minutes from the end, when a Simmons cross evaded the keeper and nestled into the far corner. A professional and thorough performance this week, onto a cup final on Wednesday! 🌹 • Goal scorers - Chiarletti, Troka, Simmons x2 Assists - Ray x2, Simmons MOTM - Simmons • 🖥 Digital designer : @seanraydesigns • #kentfootball #roselandsfc #maidstone #tonbridge #sevenoaks #football #kent #tunbridgewells #sevenoaksanddistrictleague #chipsteadfc

🌹🌹Roselands FC 0 - 2 Potters FC🌹🌹 • Saturdays game saw a tough test against a team sat 2nd in the Premier Division. Despite this, a resolute performance saw a cagey first half with few chances. The first goal came on 40 minutes, when a break over the top saw the Potters striker force a good save from Mawson, before volleying in the rebound from a tight angle. Despite a couple of half chances, we couldn’t quite work the Potters keeper enough. In the second half, Potters saw a goal disallowed after the ball was adjudged to go off for a goal kick. And then nearly the equaliser. Ray was sent through before being brought down by the keeper before a clean run on goal, a yellow card was given. The resulting free kick from Vallois saw a dangerous delivery heading towards the top corner. 3 Roselands players went close to flick it in, but a brilliant defensive header off the line kept the scores level. A few chances fell way of Yao, who went close having threatened all game. The second Potters goal came in fortuitous circumstances. A strike from the left winger took a cruel deflection, that somehow evaded 6”5 Mawson! Despite this, further chances for Ray and Akanbi came but couldn’t be taken. A good performance overall with plenty of positives to take into the next few games. Best of luck to Potters in the rest of their season.🌹 • MOTM - @klaudio118 • 🖥 Digital designer : @seanraydesigns • #kentfootball #roselandsfc #maidstone #tonbridge #sevenoaks #football #kent #tunbridgewells #sevenoaksanddistrictleague #pottersfc

🌹🌹Seal FC 3 - 2 Roselands FC🌹🌹 • On a tricky and large pitch, we struggled in the first half to deal with Seal’s route one approach. In a tense period, a decisive moment came when the referee judged Giles to have handled in the box. Despite Roselands protests, the penalty was awarded. The resulting spot kick struck the bar before going out, however the referee felt there was encroachment and the kick was retaken. No mistake this time as it was converted. A couple of good chances for Masoha and Chiarletti came our way, but in truth our first half performance was poor. Seal’s second came when the centre half received the ball from a throw on. With little pressure, another long ball caught out our defence, before a smart lob over Mawson was completed. Despite harsh words at half time, and a few home truths, we struggled to get a hold of the game. Seal saw a goal chalked off with the ball being judged to have gone out for a goal kick, a very close call. And then some hope, good play from Yao saw an early cross towards Masoha. The Seal centre back tried to cushion a header back to his goalkeeper from 30 yards, but a mix up saw an own goal scored. With a chance of getting back into the game, further chances soon followed. Good pressure forced a mistake from the Seal keeper, with the ball collected by Yao in the box. He beat his man, struck a shot at goal that was brilliantly saved and tipped over by the keeper. After a couple of corners followed, a brilliant delivery by Vallois saw a glancing header into the far corner for Masoha. In truth, whilst perhaps undeservedly pulling level, we then had good pressure and a couple of other chances that could have been taken. From our own free kick, a Seal break saw a good chance prevented for a corner. In the final minute, the resulting Seal corner was half cleared, before good work by the captain saw a good ball lofted back in over Mawson and headed home by the unmarked striker.🌹 • Goal scorers - OG, Masoha Assists - Yao, Vallois • 🖥 Digital designer : @seanraydesigns • #kentfootball #roselandsfc #maidstone #tonbridge #sevenoaks #football #kent #tunbridgewells #sevenoaksanddistrictleague #sealfc

🌹🌹Roselands FC 5 - 4 Pembury FC Roselands FC 1 - 2 Pembury FC🌹🌹 • This week saw a rare double header take place. With games outnumbering weeks left in the season, a request from Roselands was accepted for 2 games over the weekend. Both games were played in a good spirit with plenty of attacking flair from both sides. The first game saw plenty of opportunities, with Pembury taking the lead just a few minutes in. Roselands equalised quickly, before then immediately conceding again. Another equaliser came, and then a stunning Yao effort put us in front in the game for the first time. From here, Pembury kept trying to peg us back, with 4-4 the score in the final couple of minutes. With G. Sutton off the bench, good work down the left saw a ball across that fell to Ray, whose strike hit the inside of the post, before bouncing along in the other side of the net. With the first game won, the second started well. 1-0 up at half time, good work from Ray saw us go in deservedly leading. However the 2nd half saw Mawson called into action on a few occasions, before a mistake at the back allowed Pembury to equalise. With the final kick of the game, a free kick was flicked on before the Pembury striker lifted a shot over the onrushing keeper to steal 3 points at the death. Tough to take, and on reflection 4/6 points would have been merited, but credit to Pembury who continued to press in tough conditions. 🌹 • Goal scorers - Masoha x2, Ray x2, Yao, OG Assists - Chiarletti, Vallois x2, G.
