Music devices designed between Brisbane and Reykjavik to make magic. Tetrachords second batch shipping now!

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

The Tetrachords module is a deep harmonic playground. It gives hands on control of up to 4 polyphonic tracks that can be harmonically linked and manipulated together in related (or unrelated) ways. With no screen and limited menu layers, the module is about learning simple gestures that take you wherever you want to go. (Harmonically speaking). by @cycle_instruments

We gave @samvoltek a Tetrachords beta module very early in development because we love his music and approach to modular. We got some very valuable feedback from Sam which fed into the final production module.
This video is taken a few minutes after we gave him the final production module.
The only sound source is a @1010_music bit box micro which is being fed midi from the 4 tracks of the Tetrachords. Notice the nuance of the drum samples as they are reacting to the Tetrachords velocity algorithm. Tetrachords has become a favourite drum sequencer for velocity sensitive drum machines. The rhythms are being generated from the collection of 4ms clock dividers and multipliers. by @cycle_instruments

SMOOTH VOICE LEADING. A new mode we have added to the jam/ read /write button. Basically it’s an algorithm that smooths the octave jumps between notes as you move between patterns. It’s subtle but it generally just makes things sound more musical. It also dynamically responds to changes you make on the fly so you can set it off on upwards or downward spirals. It’s really nice to jam with, give it a try now on the latest beta firmware available from the cycle instruments website. #modular #modularsynth #eurorack by @cycle_instruments

STRUM MODE!
You can now strum you’re chords by holding the arp/chord button and changing the strum parameters.
The strum is not clocked it is simply a length of time so you can dial in by ear really nice grooves that push and pull against a backbeat. Download the new Beta firmware to start strumming chords on the Tetrachords. #modularsynth #modular #tetrachords #synth by @cycle_instruments

ELEKTRON SYNC. The Tetrachords can now be set to follow the program change messages sent by Elektron boxes as you move between banks and patterns.
The program change settings are fully customisable but if you want to just get things in sync quickly simply select Elektron Sync in the online editor. Pattern changes 1-8 on the Elektron map to progressions 1-8 on the Tetrachords#. And bank changes 1-8 on the Elektron map to songs 1-8 on the Tetrachords. Try it now with the new beta firmware available from the resources page of the cycle instruments website. #elektron #modular #modularsynth #tetrachords by @cycle_instruments

"...turns a studio into a melodic and harmonic playground. Easily explore anything from unisons and simple melodies to dense note clusters, made-up scales and polytonal mayhem..."

The Tetrachords by @cycle_instruments is not just a sequencer. You make it what you want it to be - melodic or experimental, tactile & performative, deep or simple.

Need somewhere to plug your @whimsicalraps Just Friends? Let it push that relationship with Tetrachords to create a 6-voice poly synth using an i2c cable on the rear panel 🫂

Tetrachords is available at Brisbane's very own HylinDevices.

We think Tetrachords and @whimsicalraps Just Friends where born to be good friends. Did you know with just one small cable on the back you can connect these two modules via i2c and instantly have a 6 voice polysynth. Lush chords, with slew, dynamics and envelopes with just two modules and no patch cables on the front. A friendship for the ages. Check the full vid on YouTube and if you have these two modules try it out! #modularsynth #whimsicalraps by @cycle_instruments
