Start by understanding what you’re feeling. Find people who care about the same issues. Stay informed through reliable sources, take breaks when you need them, and give yourself space to process what you learn. 🌱

And if climate-related anxiety starts affecting your daily life, reaching out to a mental health professional can be part of taking care of yourself.

🦠 DAY 1 | Understanding Environmental AMR 🌱

Day 1 of CEDAR 2026, the Conference on the Environmental Dimensions of Antimicrobial Resistance, brought together young people, experts, scientists, industry representatives, and policymakers to explore one key question:

How does antimicrobial resistance affect our environment, and what can young people do about it?

Across the sessions, participants explored:

🦠 What environmental AMR is and why it matters
🌊 How AMR emerges and spreads through environmental pathways
📜 What UNGA Resolution 7/11 means in practice
💡 Youth-led action through 9 AMR projects
🌍 Perspectives from science, industry, and policy
🤝 Entry points for youth to contribute to environmental AMR solutions

Day 1 showed that understanding the issue is the first step toward meaningful action.

For CYMG, CEDAR is also a space for young people to learn about a global environmental issue, discover opportunities to get involved, and bring their voices into international conversations.

Cooling is becoming a bigger part of our everyday lives. But are we making it work for people and the planet? 🌍

We asked young people what sustainable cooling looks like from their perspective, and the answers point to a bigger conversation around awareness, affordability, energy efficiency, and access.

One thing stood out: knowing about sustainable cooling does not always make it the easiest choice. Price and convenience still matter when young people make purchasing decisions.

And there’s still a knowledge gap. 40% of surveyed youth said they had never heard of the Kigali Amendment or its goal to phase down HFCs.

So, what should the next decade of sustainable cooling look like? 👀
