Women carry a disproportionate burden of both Alzheimer’s and autoimmune disease. Emerging research is giving healthcare providers new reasons to look more closely at the connection between immune activity and cognitive health.

Alzheimer’s LINX® is a specialized blood test that detects Alzheimer’s-associated immune reactivity—offering earlier immune insight, added context for cognitive decline and more information to guide personalized next steps.

Because earlier insight can create more opportunity for action.

When the virus is gone but the symptoms remain, what is keeping the immune system on high alert?

Emerging research is uncovering how autoantibodies may contribute to the persistent and often puzzling symptoms of Long COVID. For practitioners navigating these complex cases, these findings could offer a clearer understanding of what is happening beneath the surface.

Explore the latest research and what it could mean for your patients in our new blog by Robyn Puglia, FdSc, DipION, IFMCP.

Alzheimer’s Awareness Month is a reminder that protecting brain health should begin long before memory changes appear.

Cyrex takes a proactive approach with Alzheimer’s LINX™, helping healthcare professionals identify immune reactivity associated with neurological health and uncover potential risks earlier—when there may be more opportunity to support the patient’s long-term well-being.

Because awareness is important. Earlier insight can make it actionable.

Some of the most important immune activity may not show up where we expect to find it.

In a new episode of The Root Cause Medicine Podcast, Cyrex’s Robyn Puglia discusses TG6, lymphocyte patterns, and the immune signals that may appear before autoimmune disease is diagnosed.

The conversation explores why gluten reactivity is not always limited to the gut, what WheatBurden can reveal beyond conventional celiac markers, and how the Lymphocyte Map and Array 5 may provide additional context for complex clinical presentations.

New research in Nature has a name for something practitioners have long suspected: dysvirosis — a dysregulation of the body's own virome.

In over 1,100 patients, chronic viruses like EBV and CMV reactivated widely — and not only in immunocompromised people. Each reactivation left a distinct fingerprint in the immune cells: shifts in B-cell and T-cell populations, changes that tracked with inflammation.

That fingerprint is exactly what the Lymphocyte MAP is built to read — profiling the T-cell, B-cell, NK, and regulatory populations that reflect how the immune system is responding beneath the surface.

The immune system was keeping a record. This is how you read it. by @cyrexlabs

Reading an immune panel starts before the result. Here are four things worth understanding first.

1. Reactivity ≠ presence.
A marker showing up doesn’t mean your body is doing anything about it. Reactivity is the story. Presence is just the cast list.

2. Sample type matters more than people think.
Serum, plasma, saliva, stool — they’re not interchangeable windows into the same room. Each one answers a slightly different question, and the wrong sample can give you a clean answer to a question you never asked.

3. Your body doesn’t see cooked and raw as the same food.
Heat changes protein structure. A panel that tests one form and not the other is telling you a partial story. Cooked chicken and raw chicken are, immunologically speaking, two different conversations.

4. Polyreactivity isn’t junk data.
When “everything” lights up, the instinct is to throw out the panel. But a broad reaction pattern is information — about the sample, the assay, or what’s happening upstream. Wide isn’t the same as wrong.

The panel isn’t a verdict. It’s a snapshot with a very specific set of conditions attached — and the conditions are half the result.

Behind every person in this industry, there’s usually a reason.

For Chase, our Global Sales Manager, it started at home — watching his mom navigate Crohn’s and the long road to answers that so many patients know too well.

That experience is what led him to functional medicine, and eventually to Cyrex. by @cyrexlabs

Bryan Johnson's autoimmune gastritis diagnosis is a useful teaching case. For ~11 years, low ferritin was his only clue, with normal hemoglobin, no blood loss, and no response to iron.

Cyrex Laboratories' Array 5 (Multiple Autoimmune Reactivity Screen) assesses immune reactivity across a broad panel of tissue antigens, including Parietal Cell + ATPase IgG + IgA alongside thyroid markers like thyroglobulin and TPO. Because autoimmune conditions cluster, a single unexplained finding can be a reason to look wider, not just deeper.

Used alongside history, symptoms, and other findings, this kind of screen can help clinicians move from "how do we correct the number?" to "what's driving it?" by @cyrexlabs

The immune system is always talking. 🧬
The question is: are you listening?

“Functional immunology is body language. It’s a conversation the immune system is having with us.”

Learn how to read the signs before a diagnosis is even possible. Robin, VP of Clinical Education at Cyrex Labs, breaks down how to screen for autoimmune reactivity early and what to do about it.
