You got your Security+. You built a home lab. You completed all of the TryHackMe rooms/CTFs on the weekends. You even have a GitHub full of projects.

And you’re STILL not getting hired. Here’s why:

Hiring managers don’t shop for potential. They poach proven talent. They want someone already doing the job at another company — someone they can pull off one team and plug directly into their client’s environment. No ramp-up. No training. No risk.
