Dear Nana,

Thank you for being my Nana and showing me love for as long as I can remember even though we weren't related by blood. You had the heart of a warrior. The doctors told you so many times over the years that you didn't have long to live, yet you proved them wrong time and time again by showing back up in better health than you had been in years. You have been a great role model to me, showing me how to be tough and resilient (and maybe a little stubborn). You've also taught me how to forgive and let go, by letting people back in your life that you had been apart from for decades. You were also the oldest lady I knew that could rock purple hair the way you did. I'm so glad I got to see you just a few days before you left us, and that I got to say goodbye to you on the phone. I'll miss watching Wheel and Jeopardy with you, and you giving me score updates for whatever game I'm watching (even though I just watched them score too). I know you'll still be watching right there with me, and watching over me every day. You were and are the best Nana I ever could have asked for.

Love,
Derek by @d_rok26

PA State Champion in ma2 🏆

The day started out with me waking up late, losing a contact, driving halfway to the wrong course, and then having a sloppy finish on the last 8 holes of yesterday's weather-delayed round 2. I was in 5th place, 5 strokes back of the lead heading into round 2. After a hot start and followed by some frustrating missed putts and a bad bogey, I was able to get a throw-in eagle on 17 and go -5 through my last 5 holes (finishing on 2) to get my first 1000-rated round and take home the trophy.

I definitely felt like my Nana was watching over me out there and stopping me from getting down on myself, and I'm glad I could take down the win for her 💜 taken in Ship Rock Disc Golf Course by @d_rok26

2 months ago I had my worst ever tournament, and finished second to last in ma2. The whole drive home I thought about quitting playing disc golf competitively. Today I had my best ever tournament, winning by a few strokes, and now I'm the People's Champ in ma2. This sport is crazy taken in Jordan Creek Parkway by @d_rok26
