My first almost fully solar-powered Burning Man reminded me how good it feels to be radically self-reliant and that outside of my comfort zone is where real growth lays. Much love to all my wonderful friends who made this a memorable one: @bloom_camp_ @littledinosaur @djcinergy @monikawby and so many more!! Excited to embark on a new chapter of music & dancing with you all by @da.li.drgn

Growing up as a Vietnamese kid in SoCal, I often felt like I was swimming between two worlds, two viewpoints in a cultural melting pot. @hues_thecolorsofsound Lunar New Year Slow Sunday, and specifically this music moment, I felt a deep sense of harmony with my multi-cultural identity. “Huế” by @redaxesofficial was recorded live in my mother’s hometown. The sweet voices of HCMC Music Academy Students make me think of a moment of freedom and innocence before children knew the sound of bombs. Woven into “Fade Into Blue” by @benbohmermusic, this spontaneous mix has become one of my favorite music moments. Check out the full set. Link in bio. Thank you to the artists who create works that patch wounds w/ beautiful grooves! by @da.li.drgn

$My mom and I share the same ancestral inheritance: a mona lisa smile punctuated by high cheek bones, a love of deep philosophical conversations, and a deep devotion to freedom. The binary is also true. For much of our lives, that inheritance often set us against one another. Two strong wills meeting head-on, our furrowed brows staked into the same “across this line you do not..” gaze like two bulls in plaza de toros. We possess the same love of freedom from restriction that jettisons blunt, and at times, rose-colored refractions out of us. It’s in our blood to fight. But time, struggle, and love have a way of revealing what conflict obscures. Today, we are bound less by our differences than by our shared resilience, our fierce idealism, and our desire to protect what matters most. This year, I had the profound privilege of translating her third novel into English. Translation is never a simple act of conversion. Languages carry entire worlds within them: cultural memory, humor, grief, rhythm, silence, and ways of seeing that often resist direct transfer. There were passages that could not be translated literally without losing their spirit, and others whose beauty depended on nuances English does not naturally hold. My task was not merely to translate words, but to faithfully carry a voice, a history, and a soul across languages. I did my best to honor them. That same spirit lives in my first song ever, “Soil & Salt”. Written in the aftermath of Vietnam’s devastating floods last year, it is a prayer for regeneration and healing. The voice you hear at the beginning is my mother’s, calling for the restoration of the land, of memory, and of the people who belong to both. This novel, this song, and this moment of reconciliation all feel connected. They are testaments to what remains after hardship: resilience, inheritance, and love. by @da.li.drgn$

New Meowsic to the Space Jungle Dance Floor. We’re taking off soon.. by @da.li.drgn

I met @amybauerdesigns at a gallery in DTLB and we immediately bonded over art, fashion, sustainability. Weeks later, she did a “Trashion” workshop for my middle school art students who beamed with excitement about breathing new life into gently used/discarded things. Today, I got to walk for @juliekornblumstudio at #trashionshowlongbeach alongside many other talented sustainable artists. So honored to be a part of a movement bringing fashion & art to the streets, for the people, made by the people! Be on the lookout for a future collaboration intersecting art, fashion, and tea! by @da.li.drgn
