Miami just woke up to history… the coldest February 1st in over 117 years, dipping to a bone-chilling 35°F. 🥶❄️ But in the middle of this rare freeze, something beautiful happened: our incredible community poured out their love like never before.
Blankets arrived in piles—soft, warm, cozy donations wrapping our shelter dogs in comfort they so desperately needed. Hearts opened wide as fosters stepped up, taking pups into temporary homes to keep them safe from the cold. And look… those kennels are emptying out, one wagging tail at a time. 🐶❤️
We’re praying this cold snap turns into the sweetest foster fails—where ‘temporary’ becomes forever, and every cuddle leads to a lifelong bond.
To every single one of you who donated blankets, who showed up, who opened your home and your heart: from the bottom of our souls, thank you. Thank you for giving our dogs warmth, safety, and hope during this historic chill. Your kindness is melting us more than any sun ever could.

🔇💔 NO TRENDING AUDIO. JUST THE HARSH REALITY OF A SHELTER DOG’S LIFE.

✨ Medley Spotlight ✨ Genny 🩷 A2810505

Listen to the sounds of Genny’s world. And then ask yourself… is this where a one-year-old puppy should be spending her life? 🥺🐾

Genny is just a baby. A little girl with so much life, love, and puppy energy inside her, yet she’s growing up surrounded by the noise and uncertainty of a shelter.

She should be chasing toys across the living room, splashing happily in her own backyard pool 💦, curling up beside her favorite human, and falling asleep on a cozy bed knowing she is safe and loved.

She doesn’t understand why she’s here. She doesn’t know how long she’ll have to wait. She only knows the world around her is loud.

Genny loves splashing in a pool, is full of that irresistible puppy energy, and has a whole lifetime of love to give. ❤️

Please don’t let her puppyhood pass her by in a shelter. She has so much life ahead of her. Let’s help her spend it where she belongs… in a home. 🏡💗

✨Medley Spotlight✨ Choppa 🖤🐾 A2728045

Meet Choppa, a one-year-old Staffy mix who came to the shelter in April after his owner heartbreakingly had to surrender him due to a landlord issue. 💔

Imagine going from having a home, a family, a cozy bed, playing fetch, and splashing in the pool… to suddenly finding yourself behind kennel bars in a loud, unfamiliar shelter. 😔🐾

Choppa is still just a puppy. He deserves to grow up knowing love, security, and what it feels like to belong. His story doesn’t have to end at the shelter. YOU could be the one to change it! ❤️

🏡 Can you adopt or foster Choppa? Please don’t let this sweet boy grow up in a kennel when a loving home could be waiting for him.

✨🐾 MEDLEY SPOTLIGHT 🐾✨
Gus A2779046 🩵

I met this beautiful 3-year-old American Bully a few weeks ago, and I still cannot understand how Gus is still waiting at the shelter. 🥺

Gus is loving, sweet, and even participates in playgroups. He really is a five-star pup ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — but there’s one thing Gus needs from his person: patience.

Gus can be a little fearful, and the shelter environment can be overwhelming for a dog like him. What he needs isn’t perfection… he needs someone willing to give him a little extra TLC, a little time, and a whole lot of love. ❤️

A weekend Pawventure out of the shelter could help Gus decompress and show his true personality. Even better? A foster home. And the ultimate happy ending would be a family who sees Gus for the amazing dog he is and chooses to adopt him. 🏡🐾

🐾 Shelter dogs don’t get to choose who sees them. We have to be their voice. ❤️

Their lives can literally depend on an algorithm… on whether someone stops scrolling, watches their video, shares their post, or sends it to the right person. 🥺🐶

So let’s be the voice of the voiceless. 📣❤️

Thank you to everyone who likes, comments, shares, follows, networks, fosters, adopts, and donates. 🙏 Every single interaction matters.

Sometimes it can be disheartening when so many of the likes come from people who don’t follow the page. But then I remind myself: if a non-follower sees one of these dogs and becomes the person who changes that dog’s life… THAT is what matters. ❤️

Please like, follow, share, and network these videos. You never know whose screen one of these dogs might land on. Maybe it lands on the person who has been waiting for them without even knowing it yet. 🏡🐾

Shelter dogs don’t get to choose their audience. We choose to be their audience, their advocates, and their voice.

Meet Rex 🖤 A2114607 — a 7-year-old Rottweiler with the sweetest soul and a goofy personality that will steal your heart. 🥹🐾

Rex is a gentle giant who loves people, loves to play fetch, and walks wonderfully on a leash. 🎾🐕‍🦺 He has so much love left to give… and yet, he’s still waiting for someone to see him and say, “You’re my dog.” ❤️

Seven years old shouldn’t mean being overlooked. Rex deserves a soft bed, a loving home, and someone who will appreciate all the wonderful things that make him Rex. 🖤

🐾❤️ MEET SNUGGLES — A BIG BOY WITH AN EVEN BIGGER HEART! ❤️🐾

Snuggles A2789932 is a 3-year-old Terrier mix weighing in at about 80 pounds… but somebody forgot to tell him that he’s a BIG boy! 😂🐶

This lovable guy absolutely lives up to his name. 🥹❤️ He wants to be close to his people, loves giving hugs, and somehow believes that an 80-pound body belongs perfectly on your lap! 🤣🐾

But behind those big hugs is something even bigger — a dog who is simply waiting for someone to choose him. 💔

Snuggles is one of the hidden gems 💎 at the Medley Shelter, Miami-Dade Animal Services’ overflow shelter. So many people in our community don’t even realize that these dogs are there, waiting patiently for someone to walk through those doors and see what we see. 🥺🐾

Imagine coming home after a long day and having this giant lovebug waiting to give you the biggest hug. 🥰🐶❤️

Did you know there are MANY hidden gems at the Medley Shelter? 🐶✨

Medley is the overflow shelter for Miami-Dade Animal Services, and unfortunately, many people in our community don’t even realize these dogs are there. They’re often overlooked simply because they aren’t seen by as many people.

And trust me… there are some INCREDIBLY deserving pups waiting for someone to notice them. 🥺❤️

‼️✨ 9/15 UPDATE: Tara was adopted on 9/9!!!!! 😭🐾💗✨ Tara #A1977111 — my sweet, smart, pretty girl is still waiting for her forever home. She’s been at Miami-Dade Animal Services Medley Shelter since November 2025. She’s coming up on a year of waiting for someone to choose her.

Kennel life isn’t easy on any of these pups & it’s no different for Tara. She’s the best girl in the world & it breaks my heart that she can potentially spend another holiday season behind her kennel gate.

She loves car rides, gives the best high five, loves going on lunch dates, likes baths, loves affection, & she participates in playgroups— which means she can probably do well with dogs similar to her in size as long as proper intros are made. No small pets, please 🤞🏼✨
