🚨[New Art Alert]🚨 Titled, "Highest Self" 24 in × 30 in Multimedia on Canvas Artist Statement: "Highest Self" is a visual representation of the divine being that dwells within. A being of knowledge, wisdom, and understanding; of peace and of war; one who builds and destroys. Our fullest potential made manifest. Much like the avatar state, we have the ability to tap into this inner being which can be precieved in our physical vessel as a light, abundant confidence, or inner strength that seems disproportionate to our physical size. Through spiritual enlightenment we can reconnect with the "GOD" in us and make our world what we want it to be. Love, Peace, & Blessings to my TRIBE! 🚨[New Art Alert]🚨 Titled, "Natural Roots: Sunflower Bliss" 24 in x 30 in Mixed Media on Canvas Artist's Statement: "Natural Roots: Sunflower Bliss" is the second piece in the "Natural Roots" series. The focus of this series is to examine, appreciate, and build conversation around black hair and how it is precieved in this county. "Sunflower Bliss" is dedicated to the black women who embrace their natural hair as the crowns they are. The empowerment of choosing what she naturally possesses over conforming to European beauty standards. How in doing this it radiates power, joy, and confidence that can be felt in every space she enter. How can you not smile when in the presence of such blissfulness. The use of sunflowers is due to the nature of the flower. How they seem to radiate warmth and joy. Not only that but when confronted with a lack of natural sunlight they will turn towards each other and bask in their radiance. Infinite gratitude to everyone who came out to the opening of my solo exhibition, "The Art of Afro-Alchemy " at the Sumter County Gallery Of Art yesterday. I'm still kind of overwhelmed by it all. To be acknowledged in your home town is a special feeling.
