Infinite gratitude to everyone who came out to the opening of my solo exhibition, "The Art of Afro-Alchemy " at the Sumter County Gallery Of Art yesterday. I'm still kind of overwhelmed by it all. To be acknowledged in your home town is a special feeling. All the stress and anxiety that was weighing on me up till the day of, all just melted away the moment I stepped foot in the gallery and saw that first smiling face! Shoutout to all my friends and family that came out to show love! I'm thankful for the gallery and everything it has done for me and the community. If you didn't make it to the opening don't worry the exhibit will be viewable until March 6th. Gallery hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 11am-5pm. But before that, I will be having a uniquely curated artist talk on Saturday, February 28th that is also free to the public. Don't miss out! We winning ALL 2026! Love, Peace, & Blessings to all my followers and supporters. Stay Creative! #art #artexhibition taken in Sumter County Gallery Of Art by @jakeemdadream

Meet JAKEEM DA DREAM (@jakeemdadream) one of our incredible featured artists in our By Any Means exhibition in celebration of Juneteenth! JAKEEM DA DREAM is an Afrofuturism visual artist specializing in works using acrylics. JAKEEM DA DREAM has a unique style as he incorporates the focuses of illustration into his work that is driven by ideas and concepts of hermetic philosophy, mythology, religion, anime, and comics. His unique and intentional use of color and line work not only distinguishes his creations but invites you into an other world experience. JAKEEM DA DREAM is not only a painter on the canvas, but a muralist designing beautiful spaces within is style. He is one of our artists who evolved the exhibition by designing a mural as the backdrop to the artwork in the show and a moveable and interactive wall created for the Juneteenth reception. We are honored and grateful to have his work featured in both Redux Contemporary Art Center (@reduxartcenter) and Avery Research Center (@averyresearchcenter). JAKEEM DA DREAM will be speaking around his creative style and work during the Artist Talks during the Juneteenth reception.
