Looking across Peachland toward the Bald Range wildfire.

The wind was all over the place tonight. (08.10.2026)

Tonight there are 54 BCWS personal working the fire with some fine RCMP members keeping things safe out there.

About last night.

The McDougall Creek Wild Fire (K52767) ragged through West Kelowna last night and jumped the lake over to Kelowna and caused some very fast evacuations of areas thought to be safe from this fire.

I was on assignment for a big news wire service from the US, and provided the world with the first look at this fire.

Riddle me that.

Riddling is part of the traditional method of making sparkling wine. Each bottle is gradually turned and tilted upside down, moving the yeast sediment into the neck before it’s removed during disgorgement.
