“Oh you take the high road and I’ll take the low road…” as long as that road leads to a voting booth! From the Bonny, Bonny banks of Loch Lomond - to all my fellow Americans: PLEASE VOTE TODAY!!! #vote by @daisycutter
We can't wait to welcome @daisycutter with Greg Anderson as our Featured Artists this Friday. Thanks for a lovely show at @henandchicken last night (as well as @folkandroots for a great time in SoHo, and of course @backroadshertford for the warm welcome to the UK)! Day off today: we found where Joe Strummer used to drink cider in Somerset! Wilkins Cider is the real deal. Traditional, wild-ferment dry cider made the old fashioned way as it has been for generations. Absolute stuff of legend. And some of the best cheddar cheese we’ve ever had as well! Who can resist a free range egg vending machine? Sunset in Shakespeare country. by @daisycutter
I honestly don’t even know how to begin to say what it means to me to finally have my new album, “Last Resort Motor Inn”, out now in the world. Once you release an album it’s just that - you let it go, it’s not yours and yours alone anymore. It goes out to have its own life, and hopefully to mean something to someone else’s life. That’s the reason why we make music, or at least the reason we record the music we make. Or at least one of the reasons I do. I started writing the songs on this album four years ago, after I got over the feeling (common to other songwriters and artists, or so I’ve heard) post “Northeast” release that I’d never write another good song again. I remember feeling that way after “Waiting For The Stars”, before I started writing for “Northeast”. Now I feel a similar way after the release of this album. It’s a thing. … continues in comments… by @daisycutter

“The Folly” : a delightful street in Hertford / what it feels like touring with jet lag where you drive on the opposite side of the street than you’re used to… Big thanks to the lovely folks who came out to our first UK show last night @backroadshertford , and thanks to Naomi for having us. We so very much appreciated the warm welcome! 🙏 Fun fact: Hartford, CT was named after Hertford, UK… but the spelling was changed in the US to keep the UK pronunciation intact. I can confirm that this did not work in the opposite direction as I successfully mispronounced the town several times! (Sorry!) Anyway, I’m pretty sure I’m still pronouncing London correctly, so come see us there tonight @folkandroots SoHo! #uktour #americana #fiddle #singersongwriter #newmusic by @daisycutter
“Characterized by rich fiddle, delicious harmonies and songs about living life, overcoming heavy challenges and looking to the horizon, this is an album that’ll make you think, listen, and feel cathartic and alive. The inclusion of a fiddle-based version of King Crimson’s ‘Starless’ is wild and amazing.” WOW! Thanks @americanahighways for premiering the new album! (That means if you head over to Americana Highways website, you can listen to the album in its entirety (including that King Crimson track!) two days before it comes out on Friday, Oct 30!) Starting the first date of our UK tour off with gratitude for the promoters and venues who took a chance on a couple of Americana musicians from upstate NY and said, “sure, come play here!” Touring is a real gamble in these times, and this is our first time touring the UK 🇬🇧 so there’s a lot to be nervous about, but one thing I know is that live music is one thing we all need more of! (Also grateful for this lovely write up in the Arts section of @sohomag -wow!) Hope you can join us for one of our shows this week: TONIGHT @backroadshertford Tomorrow, Thurs 29 Oct @folkandroots Soho, London Friday, 30 Oct @henandchicken (the album release show!) #americana #touringmusician #uktour #newmusic #fiddle by @daisycutter
