Ana really doesn’t love taking photos… 🤦🏻‍♀️ but when her Uncle David asked her to do a ballet shoot, we finally got her to say yes. And I am SO grateful we did. 🩰 🙏🏼

This may very well be the last time we see @ana.v.alanis in her pointe shoes, and these photos are something we will treasure forever. They are absolutely exquisite. @dalanis2 captured her so beautifully — the strength, elegance, and beauty of a ballerina. ✨ And tucked into this beautiful shoot is also a little homage to Degas and his Little Dancer — a nod to the artist who so beautifully captured the grace, movement, and quiet moments of ballet. 🫶🏼🩰

What you don’t see in those gorgeous pointe shoes, though, is all the pain that comes with them. The years of training, the blisters, bruises, aching feet, and countless hours of pushing through when your body says, “I’ve had enough.” So, I’m including a few photos of the feet underneath those beautiful pointe shoes, too. Because that’s the part of ballet people don’t always see. 🫶🏼

Thank you so much David for capturing Ana in this beautiful way. You did an AMAZING job, and I truly cannot recommend you enough! 📸 I told Ana, “You are going to be so grateful you have these photos 10, 20, even more years from now. You’ll look back and say, ‘Look what I could do back then!’” 🥹

One day this chapter will become a memory. But these photographs will always remind her of the strength, discipline, dedication, and beauty that lived in her.

Our ballerina. My Cotitas. 🤍🩰
